I’m sure food which is rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins is very necessary for us.

We know that the fish, for example, meat, oil, cheese are rich in proteins and they are necessary for growing organism.

Fats, oil, carbohydrates give us energy but they should be used in small quantities.

What do you eat in order to stay healthy?

Pupil from Britain: As for me I always think about what I eat. In order to stay healthy I have a

living guide. He helps me how to follow the balanced diet.

Pupil from Ukraine:

I completely agree with you, it’s very important to choose a balanced diet, to eat more organic food, it is fuel and our minds and bodies depend on it. To be strong and healthy I try to eat regularly three times a day, go in for my favorite kind of sport. And on weekends I with my friends take rucksacks and walk somewhere into the country, swim in summer, ski, sledge in winter. It’s great!

Teacher:

I can’t but agree with you, as J. K. Jerome said “We are the slaves of stomach. Food influen-ces our mind and our behavior”. What do you think about it?

Pupil:

It’s a pity but there are many bad habits. As for me I can’t lose the habit of snacking or skipping regular meals. I’m always short in time.

Pupil:

Oh, it’s too bad. Such rapid life leads to stomach diseases. As for me, I’ve got three meals a day, I eat lots of vegetables and fruit.

Pupil:

But I adore of sandwiches, burgers and fast-food. When I haven’t got a time for meal I eat crisps and chocolate.

Pupil:

It isn’t good for your health, I know eating too much sweets, high fat food lead to obesity and teeth disease.

Pupil:

I try, but sometimes I can’t lose my habits. What should I do? Sometimes I have a snack after 6 p. m. I know it isn’t useful for organism, but I do it …

Pupil:

It is good that you know you have really bad habits, everybody should think about his health.

Pupil:

What measures must be taken against these bad health habits?

Teacher:

Well, there are some good advices, popular ways to lose weight and avoid gaining it. Read them and say how many people support these advices.

Reading ( “A teenage diet” )

Teacher:

Are these favorite foods contain only necessary calories, vitamins or perhaps there is anything negative things in them.

Додаток: “A teenage diet”

I wouldn’t say I’m a fussy eater and the only thing I really don’t like is fish – I’m always scared I’ll swallow a bone! I try to eat a balanced diet and I always have breakfast , lunch and tea which are quite healthy because I have them at home.

Sometimes I’m not so good between meals and eat crisps and chocolate, and there’s a McDonald’s near my house, so it’s really easy to go in there and buy a burger! I never used to eat vegetables but I’m starting to eat more of them now. I try to eat fruit fairly often too, but looking at what I’ve eaten all week, there doesn’t seem to be much fruit..!

By the way, this is my diary of what I eat, isn’t it a healthy diet?
