LEVEL 3 SHORT COURSE

SPRINTMEET

(Held under the ASA Laws and Regulations and Technical Rules of Racing)

1 The meet will be held under ASA law and regulations and technical rules of racing and has been

licensed by the ASA for entry into County and Regional Competitions.

2 All competitors must be members of an affiliated club and must be Cat 2 registered, eligible to compete and registered inaccordance with ASA laws and regulations and technical rules of racing and may enter in the name

of one club only.

3 By submitting entries on the official entry forms, online or via email,clubs and competitors accept the rules of this competition. Competitors whose entries are acceptedand subsequently found to have been entered in the wrong event(s) a) because of incorrect entryinformation will be withdrawn from the event(s) and will not have their entry fees refunded. However, b) because of error by the organizer, will be withdrawn from the event(s) and will at theorganizer’s discretion and without further obligation or liability by the organizer either be enteredin the correct event or receive a refund of the relevant entry fee(s).

4 The pool is 25m and the competition will be swum short course. Anti-wave devices will be inplace and electronic timing/placing will be used wherever possible. The organizer reserves theright to ban the use of gas hooters, klaxons etc., which in the organizers opinion, could be a hazardor a danger to swimmers, officials or spectators.

5 Entries with Short Course times should be made via Hy-Tek team manager (long course times

will be accepted if converted to short course) and e-mailed to . Printout

of Hy-Tek entry file (or clerical entry form if applicable) and payment form should reach the Meet

Secretary by 6th August 2017.

aThe entry fee for electronic entry is £5.00 per event

b Coach passes are £15.00 each – Max of 4 per club (coffee/tea and lunch included)

c £5 spectator entry.

6 Entry information will be sent to Club Secretaries, via email, on receipt of entries and correct fees.

7 The acceptance of competitors will be based on times submitted. As many heats as possible will be run in the timeavailable for the Meet. The promoters reserve the right to amend the number of heats in each eventdepending on entry numbers.

The upper qualifying times below are the fastest acceptable timesfor entry. There are no lower qualifying times.

8 If the event is oversubscribed, and in order to keep each session within the timeperiod of 3 hours, entries will be accepted on a “first come, first served” basis.

9 As soon as possible after the closing date, club list sheets will be emailed to each respective clubsecretary with accepted entries, together with any information in respect of entries not accepted.All refunds will be made ‘en block’ to the club submitting the entries, these will be sent by postor will be available for collection by the club representative on the day. There will be no refundsfor withdrawals after the closing date.

10 All events are being swum as open age, however awards will be age grouped (910 years, 11, 12,13, 14, 15, 16 & over). Ages will be as at 1st October 2017. Swim Meet entries may be managedby computer. By submitting entries, consent is thereby given, as required under the data ProtectionAct of 1998, to the holding of personal information on a computer. Personal data, includingsubmitted and recorded times, may be made public during the meet.

11 Use of still and video photography must be appropriate and in keeping with welfare guidelines.

12 The meet will be run without cards. Heats will be pre seeded. Swimmers do not need to sign in.The organizers reserve the right to add non-scoringswimmers at their sole discretion should it become necessary. If time permits the organisersreserve the right to accept ‘Deck Entries’ on the day however these swimmers will be entered as“Time Trials” only. All entries, including Deck Entries, must comply with the entry times for thisLevel 3 meet.

13 All events will be HDW. Entries will be seeded into heats from submitted times, thesewill be seeded before the event; where swimmers have withdrawn the lane will be leftempty. Slowest heats will be swum first. All heats will be placed in ‘spearhead’formation.

14 Competitors must report to the stewards 2 events prior to their event.

15 There will be medals in every event for the first three swimmers in each age group. Awards willbe made to the top boy and top girl swimmer using a points system based on swimmers achieving1st to 8th places in each event. An award will be presented to the Top Visiting club and will becalculated using the same points system.

16 Only swimmers reporting for their event and appointed officials are allowed on poolside duringthe competition. During warm-ups only coaches holding the valid Meet pass will be allowed onpoolside. Wet swimmers are not allowed in spectator areas.

17 There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the Pool complex.

18Anything not covered in the above rules and associated documentation will be at the discretion of the Lead Referee. Meet organisers will amend the rules where necessary following the instruction of the Lead Referee in the event of a situation out of our control, and to ensure the meet runs smoothly.

19 Any swimmer breaking these conditions will be liable to disqualification from any or all events.

20The Referee’s decision is final, subject to ASA Law
