UNIVERSITY & CAREERS SERVICE MAY 2017 NEWSLETTER

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

As part of the Diploma Programme, students are required to take 6 subjects across all disciplines of languages, science, mathematics, humanities, and language acquisition. In addition, they are assessed on their knowledge of how we learn, an extended piece of writing, and community service (CAS).

The Diploma has been compared to being equivalent to 5 A Levels and is highly recognised across the world.

Students achieving a grade 5 in a Higher Level subject even have the ability to gain college credit in the US and Canada and therefore graduate early!

At DIS, students also have the option of following the Group Courses Programme or the Career-Related Programme (IBCP) and adapt the programme to suit themselves. DIS was a pilot school for the IBCP and we are recognised as having an exemplary offering with numerous industry links including Al Futtaim, Ski Dubai, Grand Hyatt, InterContinental plus many more!

What makes IB Programme unique is the ability for students to pick the course that suits them best.

Below you will find an overview of the Diploma, Group Courses and Career-Related programmes that we offer at DIS.
