If this procedure doesn't break the tie, the total games won minus total games lost within the round robin will be used. If the tie still remains, total points won minus total points lost within the round robin will determine the final placings.
D. If three teams are tied for first place then the tie shall be broken as follows:
1. draw the names randomly
2. first name out receives a bye
3. the other two teams play a single game
4. the first named team plays the winner in a single game to decide first place
PROPOSED:
6. C. Tiebreaks
i. All two way ties for first and second place in the round robin will be determined by the result of the match between the two tied players/teams.
ii. In a 3-way tie for first place, the players will be ranked 1, 2 and 3 based first on games won minus games lost (among the tied teams) ; second on points won minus points lost (among the tied teams). The second and third ranked teams will then play one game to 21 pts to determine second place in round robin.
iii. In a 3-way tie for second place, the players will be ranked 1, 2 and 3 as described in ‘ii’ above. The second and third ranked teams will then play one game to 21 pts to determine who will play the first ranked player in one game to 21 pts that will then determine second place in the round robin.
