How to use the Sessions Generator Planner

You use the T013 Sessions planner (Spreadsheet) (Coaching Tools Folder) to select your training grids from a range of options, Attacking, Defending, Midfield or Goalkeeper etc. or Dribbling, Passing, Crossing etc. whatever you want to concentrate on. There is a sample sheet included with 26 weekly session (for all Levels). I suggest you open a sample close to the Level that you wish to coach and save a copy for you to modify.

I am using T013 Sessions Planner Level 3.xls

1 Open the appropriate sample

2 Click on Sessions Selections worksheet

Your main screen will look like this (I will explain in detail later)

Top of Excel spreadsheet worksheet Screen Sessions Selections

Bottom of Excel spreadsheet worksheet Screen Sessions Selections

In the Left hand column will be a suggested Grid for Level 3 highlighted – You can still select other grids the ones highlighted are more suitable for this level.

I Session 1 which will be your first coaching session select a warm up grid (the grids are listed in order of use, you can choose 13 coaching grids in any session. You have to use a unique number 1 – 13, As a guide I use 1,2 3 for Warm Ups, 4,5 and 6 for Ball Skills, 7,8 and 9 for Match Practice, 10.11.and 12 for Games or Fitness and 13 usually is a warm down grid.

Here is a sample, I have used a couple of not suggested grids because my club team is a Division 2 team but in selection 2 I use the same grid in sessions next to each other (all grids have developments) so in the second session of the same grid I will change things around using development i or ii see Attacking Line Pass & wide play this has quite a few variations so I will get more out of the players once they know the basics of the routine.

At the bottom of the list is a check box showing if I have used a number 1 – 13 twice = if a 2 appears then I have selected that number twice and should only select it once. You can see in Session 2 I have enter 1 twice so I should find where it has been entered twice

.Then for each week you will see an automatically generated sessions sheet, this you can print out along with the grids selected and build up your coaching handbook.

Best of Luck with your coaching
