Lesson Plans for the Week of Sept.26 - Oct. 3, 201f
Monday Sept. 26
Target Goals: I can cite write evidence based answers for questions given in Lyddie, chapters 11 and 12 text. (RL.7.1)
Procedures: Students will complete check quiz over Chapters 11 and 12.
Students will begin working on the handout “Sorting Statements About Working Conditions on their Anchor Charts.
Homework - Study for Vocabulary quiz over Chapters 8, 9, and 10. Students should also complete handout “Sorting Statements About Working Conditions on their Anchor Charts.
Tuesday, Sept. 27
Target Goals: I can analyze author’s word choices create vivid descriptions to describe Lyddie’s living and working conditions.. (RL.7.5)
Procedures: First, students will complete vocabulary test for Chapters 8, 9, and 10. Next students will review the Sorting Statements Working Conditions Handout and cite evidence to support their answers.
Homework - Re-read Chapters 11 and 12 highlighting vocabulary words given in chapter.
Wednesday, Sept. 28 (1st,3rd, and 5th)
Target Goals:
I can use a variety of strategies to determine the meaning of unknown words or phrases. (L.7.4)
Procedures: Students will pair with a partner to define vocabulary words given in Lyddie, Chapters 11 and 12. Students will define the vocabulary words given by using context clues and will also write their own sentences to explain the definition of the words given.
Homework - Students should read chapter 13 and complete Readers’ Notes Handout.
Thursday, Sept. 29 (2nd and 6th)

Target Goal: I can cite several pieces of text-based evidence to support an analysis of literary text. (RL.7.1)
Procedures: Students will complete Chapter 13 Entry Task using evidence from the text to write and support the answer that they write.
Homework - Read and complete Readers’ Notes handout for both Chapters 14 and 15.
