Monday (A Day)
Bell Ringer: Twelfth Night Mischief
Activity:
1)Introduce the final research project
2)Give students the poem packet to use in the research packet
3)Go over deadlines for thesis, notes, first draft, and final draft.
4)Go over word count and paper format
5)Introduce ACT vocabulary lesson
6)Victorian Era Jigsaw Activity
a)Break into home group and work group
b)Work groups will be given a section to read and take notes on . They will meet and decide what is important from their section to teach to the members of the work groups
c)Each person in the home group will present their findings to their group.
Objectives:
- To conduct independent research, develop thesis, take notes, critically analyze using secondary sources, edit, and produce a final product.
- To work in cooperative groups
- To read , understand, analyze, and evaluate information on the Victorian Era

2)Define “comparison poem” as used by Blake in the Songs of Innocence and the Songs of Experience
3)Read “The Tyger” and “The Lamb”
4)Complete questions at the end of the selection
Objectives:
- To identify characteristics of early and late Romanticism
- To identify characteristics of the comparison poems of William Blake
- To read and analyze poems for format, theme, figurative language, etc…

Activity:

Bell Ringer: Spelling Quiz
Activity:
1)Using the rhetorical pyramid, compare and contrast “The Tyger” and “The Lamb
2)Have students break into pairs to read two more Blake comparison poems, analyze structure and use of figurative language to complete a second rhetorical pyramid.

Objectives:
- To identify the speaker, audience, purpose, message, tone, and methods (connotations) of a poem
- To improve spelling of ACT words
