ACCOMODATIONS and INTERVENTIONS: These accommodations and strategies will be used every hour and every day as appropriate. Mrs. Cooper will redirect; use proximity; clarify directions; and repeat directions. She will encourage participation; assist with academic language; read aloud content; explain content and use inquiry to check understanding; monitor progress; and assist with organization. All IEP accommodations will be honored.

1st hour Introduction to Social Science 104 Ms. Rennison (Room 213)Monday and Tuesday Mrs. Cooper will walk around the room and redirect students in order to keep them on task as they complete the projects on poverty. She will give project suggestions and direction. As usual, directions will be clarified and explained. Examples will be given, explained, modeled, etc. Wednesday As students work on the geography assignment, Mrs. Cooper will point to the atlas areas to find the answers, guide students to the answer through inquiry, and provide connections to previous learning. Thursday Mrs. Cooper will encourage circle participation by modeling discussion contributions. Mrs. Cooper will pre-teach vocabulary and read aloud as required. She will contribute to the discussion. She will use inquiry to guide thinking to the correct answer. She will point out the correct are of the articles to reread to find answers for the article analysis. Friday Mrs. Cooper will monitor behavior during the video on Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania. Mrs. Cooper will point out each area on the map and reiterate that Australia is one of the seven continents. She will assist students with the video notes and reflection, particularly spelling and completion.She will help students find answers to the notes by calling attention to key points during or after the video.

2nd hour World History 234 Mr. Yoho (Room 247) Monday through Friday Mrs. Cooper will use the following primary strategies: show the paragraph or section to reread, list major supporting facts, and rephrase the questions. Mrs. Cooper will walk through the room encouraging wise use of time. She will answer questions and point students toward the answer. She will check for missing work. Mrs. Cooper will guide students to supporting data. She will participate in the discussion and will ask questions to clarify or emphasize key points. (Monday- Free elections, citizen participation, majority rule/ minority rights, and constitutional government as the components for democracy. Ex: Latin America Tuesday Africa and colonialism and apartheid. Wednesday Reasons for the fall of the Soviet Union. Thursday Changes in Europe with emphasis on solidarity and reunification (Germany). Friday Reasons for the economic growth in China and the rise to world power.

3rd hour World History 234 Mr. Powell (Room 143) Monday – Friday Mrs. Cooper will help students (one-on-one or small groups) to complete the paper. Primary strategies: show the paragraph or section to reread, list major supporting facts, and rephrase the questions. Mrs. Cooper will walk through the room encouraging wise use of time. She will answer questions and point students toward the answer. She will check for missing work. Mrs. Cooper will guide students to supporting data. She will make cultural connections for the DBQ by giving examples. She will participate in the discussion and will ask questions to clarify or emphasize key points. Sentence starters will be given for the reflection. Examples from the reading will be used. Mrs. Cooper will use inquiry to guide thought processes to identify and understand implicit material as well as the explicit facts on the Holocaust.

4th hour American Literature/Composition 334 Mr. Wilson (Room 245) Vocabulary M Mrs. Cooper will pre-teach words. W She will provide a reinforcement activity for the vocab. F She will create and give the quiz. M-F Mrs. Cooper will contribute to the discussion and monitor behavior during the reading of the text. (Catcher in the Rye) She will point out the use of vocab in the text. She will provide graphic organizers and other activities to reinforce learning. Mrs. Cooper will monitor behavior as needed. Some small group work will be done.

5th hour Geometry 334 Mr. Lamble (Room 237) Monday – Friday Circle Equations Worksheet and Dizzy Circles project Primarily, Mrs. Cooper will help students stay on task (and on the appropriate website for the project). She will give prompts for project topics. Mrs. Cooper will help students complete the classwork by modeling, re-teaching, etc. She will help students organize notes. Mrs. Cooper will help students set up the problems and decode meaning of the word problems the word problems. She will walk through the room checking progress, helping as needed.

7th hour English 134 Mrs. Poe (Room 215) Monday Graphic organizers will be reviewed at random. Mrs. Cooper will use sample sentences, synonyms, antonyms, mnemonic devices and “hints” to help students acquire knowledge of new vocabulary through completing a graphic organizer. She will guide students to acquire knowledge by completing No Red Inkactivities . Tuesday and Thursday Mrs. Cooper will repeat and rephrase directions. She will reinforce the lesson to students one-on-one or in small groups. She will assist the classroom teacher as needed. Mrs. Cooper shall spot check vocabulary progress through random questions. She will also check on late work and missing assignments for as many students as possible. She will participate in the reading and discussion of Romeo and Juliet. W SSR During the reading, Mrs. Cooper will monitor behavior. She will randomly ask questions to gauge progress and understanding. Mrs. Cooper will monitor students who are using a variety of reading comprehension strategies, while reading a self-selected novel. Students may be asked to read aloud or answer comprehension questions during the reading. She will distribute and spot check the reading logs. F Academic Seminar Mrs. Cooper will work with students on No Red Ink (explain/re-teach unclear concepts and confusing questions) and the reading work (point to areas of reading with the answers) as well as other missing assignments. Special emphasis will be on the Romeo and Juliet assignments. Book Talk reminders will be made. She will help students find the appropriate make-up papers.
