  1. LeonCounty Administration:
  • Local State of Emergency was declared by Leon County at 5:00PM on Monday July 4 2010.
  • Leon County Government Offices will remain CLOSEDforThursday July 7 and Friday July 8 2010.
  1. Leon County Schools:
  • All public schools, activities and district facilities will remain CLOSED for Thursday July 7 and Friday July 8 2010.
  1. Leon County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management:
  • County Emergency Operations Center remains fully activated with 24 hour operations.
  • Various ESF lead / support agencies coordinating response activities within the Emergency Operations Center.
  • Facilitated a Region II coordination conference call. Participants in the call included Region II Emergency Managers along with appropriate Leon County and City of Tallahassee departments supporting community and faith based organizations.
  • The next Region II coordination conference call is scheduled for 2:00PM on Thursday July 7 2010.
  1. City of Tallahassee Utilities:
  • Extensive power outages are reported throughout the service area.
  1. Talquin Electric:
  • Extensive power outages are reported throughout the service area.
  1. Leon County Public Works:
  • Maintaining 24hour operations.
  • Sandbags remain available.
  • No assistance available for filling sandbags. Must bring own shovel.
  • Limit of 15 sandbags per vehicle.
  • Sandbag locations:
  • N Monroe St / US Hwy 27 at Lake Jackson Landing
  • Ranchero Rd at Oak Ridge Rd
  • Tekesta Rd at Deer Lake Rd (Tekesta Park in Killearn Lakes)
  • Apalachee Pky / US Hwy 27 at Solid Waste Facility (Multi-Purpose Fields)
  • Response equipment / supplies remain on standby:
  • Chainsaws
  • Road barricades
  • Variable message boards
  • Large volume water pumps
  • Road clearing task forces deployed to various staging areas.
  1. City of Tallahassee Public Works:
  • Sandbags are available.
  • No assistance available for filling sandbags. Must bring own shovel.
  • Limit of 25 sandbags per vehicle

  • Mabry St at Bellevue Way
  • Mitchell Ave at Winthrop Park
  • Dade St at Lawrence-Gregory Community Center
  • Messer Field South on Jackson Bluff Rd
