We are looking for a recently retired military professional officer to teach, plan and co-ordinate modules of our Joint Command and General Staff Course in the area of the NATO capabilities category “Manoeuvre and Fires”, including targeting. This person will educate military staff officers and selected civil servants of NATO/EU nations and PfP countries and contribute to their professional development. His or her contribution to our applied research and conduct of conferences and seminars will be appreciated.

I MAIN DUTIES

1.  Teaching, development and co-ordination of manoeuvre and fires related subject matter expertise at the level of combined joint operations for the Joint Command and General Staff Course and the Civil Servant Course. Duties include:

-  Deliver teaching on manoeuvre and fires in combined joint operations in accordance with the Course Plan;

-  Act as module coordinator and/or head teacher for exercises and modules in combined joint operations;

-  Conduct Course Plan development in the teaching of manoeuvre and fires at the combined joint operations;

-  Develop and maintain course educational materials and collateral in accordance with relevant NATO and Alliance doctrines;

-  Contribute to the design and development of exercise scenarios and related simulation to support course learning objectives.

2.  Act as a Syndicate Guiding Officer for Joint Command and General Staff Course students in accordance with Commandant’s Directives.

II OTHER DUTIES

1.  Participate in the tutoring, evaluation and assessment of students attending the Joint Command and General Staff Course.

2.  Perform assignments and duties as required by the Director of the Operations Department.

III QUALIFICATIONS

1.  Essential qualifications

-  An Army artillery/army ground based air defence officer or Air Force officer with a broad professional background;

-  Graduate of a General Staff Course / Joint Command and Staff Course;

-  Professional operational experience gained through participation in NATO/UN/PfP/EU operations or exercises;

-  Multinational staff service experience;

-  Accomplishment of an artillery or air defence officers course;

-  Accomplishment of a national or NATO Conventional Targeting course;

-  Leadership experience (battalion level);

-  Teaching experience and/or attended “NATO Academic Instructor Course” at NATO School Oberammergau or equivalent course attendance at other professional military educational institutions;

-  Language: English (STANAG 6001, level 3.3.3.3 or equivalent C1).

2.  Desirable qualifications

-  Attendance of a NATO Staff Officer Defence Planning Course;

-  Attendance of a NATO Staff Officer Orientation course;

-  Completion of a NATO JOPG Comprehensive Operations Planning Course;

-  Joint Operational staff experience at Defence Forces HQ´s level (J3/ J5 or J7);

-  Professional experience of defence co-operation with Eastern European countries;

-  IT: good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
