Program Manager Job Purpose:This full-time position oversees the coordination and administration of all student ministries. The program manager must possess the skills and experience to plan, organize, staff and lead our student ministries. To thrive in this role, you’ll need to love variety, work independently as well as collaboratively within a team,demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, be super organized, love coaching and supervising people and have a love for student ministry.
The Program Manager Must Demonstrate Christian Character by:

- Displaying evidence of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).
- Being deeply committed to healthy working relationships and Christian unity.
- Seeking to emulate Christ’s model of servant leadership.

The Program Manager Will Need:
- To have a working understanding and philosophy of student ministry
- To exercise creativity and innovation to ensure our ministry programs are relevant and meaningful to a changing youth culture.
- To communicate the truth of God’s Word, to students, in a clear, relevant and meaningful manner.
- Strong organizational skills.
- To be a self-learner, eager to seek new information and training.
- To proficiently use a range of office software, including email, spreadsheets, databases and social media.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- To establish and maintain healthy relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
- Wise decision making skills.
- To do lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
- The desire to make a difference in a ministry and to have some fun along the way.
Program Manager Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all programs are functioning in accordance with the mission, goals, policies and procedures of the ministry.
- Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of all student ministries.
- In consultation with the Executive Director, recruit, interview and select well-qualified program staff
- Ensure the recruiting, training and retaining of volunteers as needed for all student ministries to be safe and organized
- Coordinate the delivery of services among all program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency
- Develop and distribute appropriate forms and documents
- Provide a smooth transition for students as they graduate to the next program
- Ensure that the programs operate within the approved budget
- Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
- Report evaluation findings to the Executive Director and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate
- Ensure a yearly schedule of lesson topics for all student ministries
- Recruit the best teachers available, this may or may not include yourself.
- Oversee the creation, scheduling and organizing of quarterly Outreaches for student ministries
- Ensure 2 annual retreats for each age group
- Oversee the creation, scheduling and organizing of summer camps for each age group.
- Oversee the meal program, including collaboration with the Central PA Food Bank
- Oversee the operation of the YFC store
- Recruit, train and supervise interns
- Oversee the rationale, creation, scheduling and organizing of summer outings/field trips
- Ensure that our vehicles are properly maintained and inspected
- Oversee the collection and maintenance of data needed for statistical purposes including Monthly Scorecards and provide reports to the Executive Director
- Provide written reports and articles as needed
- Ensure that the Driver’s Liability Policy is followed and that the Commercial Driver’s form is on file for all regular drivers
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- With the executive director schedule off-site Soul Care and training events for the staff.
- There will also be ad-hoc and project work such as you would expect from a vibrant ministry!
Requirements for this position include:
- Biblical training including a degree in Student Ministry or the equivalent and/or 3 years of full-time student ministry experience
- A Philosophy of Ministry that is compatible with Lebanon Valley Youth For Christ
It is preferred that the candidate:
- Have experience in ministering to urban youth
- Have a working understanding of poverty
- Be bilingual in English and Spanish
