Learning Intern (Fixed Term 6 months)

Are you aged 18-24yrs and currently registered as unemployed with Jobcentre Plus? Then we have an exciting internship available for you to join out our busy Learning Department, who work across Leeds Grand Theatre and the City Varieties Music Hall.

Leeds Grand Theatre is the premiere receiving house in Leeds showing a vast range of shows from opera and ballet to West End Musicals, National Theatre and one night extravaganzas. Just down the road, our sister venue City Varieties Music Hall is a fantastic historic performance venue with an unrivalled reputation for presenting the very best in live music, variety and comedy as well as hugely popular annual pantomimes which have entertained Leeds’ families for generations. There will also be opportunities to shadow staff at our third venue Hyde Park Picture House, a 1914 cinema.

The Intern post will be part of the busy Learning Team, supporting events and activities and focusing on the marketing and promotion of the Learning Programme. Gaining new skills and experiences, the post will work alongside the Learning Team and have the opportunity to put into practice skills learnt from the Communications Team. Developing knowledge and understanding the Intern will build on their excellent communication and ICT skills and learn how to apply them to promote the range of opportunities available.

The Creative Employment Programme is an Arts Council England fund to support the creation of traineeships, formal apprenticeship and paid internship opportunities in England for unemployed young people wishing to pursue a career in the arts and cultural sector.
