ASSESSMENT 6.6 Called to Serve

The topic ‘Called to Serve’ has 2 assessment tasks on the blue assessment CD. Before teaching the topic you should choose one assessment task to complete with the children at an appropriate time.

6.6 ‘Called to Serve’ covers AT 1 strand (iii) L2-4

6.6 ‘Sacrament of Confirmation’ covers AT 1 strand (ii) L4-5 & AT 2 (ii) L4-5

What follows is an optional assessment for learning grid that can be used to aid driver word led planning and assessment. It provides a map of assessment opportunities that goes beyond the assessment tasks on the Assessment CD. Pupils are not required to gain every statement in a section. Teachers can use the grid to tailor what assessment for learning takes place. It will aid those teachers with mixed aged classes.

ASSESSMENT for LEARNING AT1 AT2

▪ describe the symbols used in Marriage and Holy Orders 2(ii)

▪ give reasons for the symbols used in Confirmation , Marriage 3(ii)

▪ show understanding of the Rite of Confirmation or a liturgy of the 4(ii)

Holy Spirit

▪ give reasons based on the gifts of the Holy Spirit for certain actions 3(iii)

▪ give reasons why people receive Confirmation 3(iii)

▪ give reasons why people get married in Church 3(iii)

▪ give reasons why a man may become a priest 3(iii)

▪ show understanding that the gifts of the Holy Spirit helps shape life 4(iii)

▪ make links to show how a couple’s belief leads them to marry in Church 3(i)

▪ make links to show how a man’s belief leads him to become a priest 3(i)

▪ compare ideas about the difficult questions asked about serving God 3(ii)

Less able children will
