Offering players unrealistic incentives when negotiating contracts with them is banned. For example, a GM offers a player an incentive of $2 million if he reaches 800 PA. Incentives that are unrealistic and seen as only being included so the player has a better chance to sign with you will be voided.

A player must have at least 3 years of active roster service time before he can sign an extension. No extension may be over 8 years in length. A one year contract extension to avoid arbitration is acceptable.

Double team options at the end of contracts will be banned starting during the 2020-2021 offseason.

Sim Schedule

The league will play a 162 game schedule with inter-league play. The winner of each division as well as two wild cards teams from each league will advance to the playoffs. The MLDSB World Series will be a best of 7.
The regular season sim schedule will be daily at 8 PM CT/9 PM ET. Sim length will be two per sim.

Trading

All trades will be posted on the forums in the appropriate section,"Trade Submissions".Trades will be processed post-sim!! *If a player that has been traded gets injured during the sim in which he was traded, the injury will be reset. All trades must be posted by one team and then must be confirmed by the second team. Each player must be listed with their position, full name and level they are currently at (A, AA, ML, etc.). Also here are a few other quick notes on trading:

Trade deadline in July 31st!

Trading of draft picks will not be allowed.

FA signees cannot be trade until June 15th of the season in which they were signed.

No more than 10 players may be included by a team in a single trade

 Salary can be moved and parts of salary can be retained by teams trading away players. Not just cash at hand can be dealt. The clubs keeping parts of the salaries of players who are traded away will have that extra expense added to their miscellaneous player expenses section of their finances. This can be over the course of several years and the amount covered can vary from year to year. UPDATE: With OOTP18 and its salary retention system, there will be no need for the money to be added to the misc. player expenses section of finances UNLESS a deal doesn't require salary retention over the entire life of the deal.

No PTBNL (player to be named later) trades allowed.

After the July 31st trade deadline, all players on the 40-man roster must go through waivers before they can be traded. Players not on the 40-man roster do not have to go through this process. Special rules regarding August trading will be implemented in August, 2020.

The league makes no boundaries with regards to trading. That being said, OBVIOUSLY one-sided trades or trades that may put teams in budget problems may be vetoed.

All teams must submit a trade block during the offseason prior to Jan 1 and during the season before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. If a GM does not then his status as a member of the league will come into question.

Trading Procedure

One owner must post the completed trade on the league forums, under the"Trade Submissions" forum. The other owner must confirm the deal with "I accept “or any other words that mean the same. An example is setup below. This is needed for the trade to be "official'.
Trade Example
New York Mets trade:
SP - Joe Unknown(ML)
SS - Joe Unknown (AA)
MR - Joe Unknown (A – Team A)
San Francisco Giants trade:
SP -Jonathan Sanchez (ML)
C – Joe Unknown (A – Team B)

Amateur Draft

The Amateur Draft is held every season. The draft pool will be released XX days prior to the draft date. The Amateur Draft will be 30 rounds long and it will be in a straight order. All teams will take turns selecting players in reverse order of their won-loss records at the close of the previous regular season. As much of the draft as possible will be conducted in StatsPlus.

League Forums

You must register for the forums. When registering, it is recommended that your user-name have a reference to the team you are managing. (EX: Giants_GM or Dan_Rockies).
