Job Title: Regional Lead North

Job Purpose:
Ensuring the effective and successful planning, management, delivery and quality assurance of Achievement for All programmes/products within the designated region by demonstrating high quality leadership and management in line with the organisation’s strategic vision, aims and objectives by taking responsibility for:
  • Leading the effective operational planning and delivery of Achievement for All programmes throughout the designated region ensuring continued successful outcomes and impact for children and young people;
  • Leading and managing the Deputy Regional Leads and Achievement Coaches;
  • Maintaining and developing successful, effective relationships with key stakeholders and partners including key government officers, local authorities, academy trusts and other educational organisations in the region.
  • Ensure retention of settings through effective management of operational delivery and implementing high quality assurance processes;
  • Supporting and generatingthe recruitment of new programmes/products.

Key Accountabilities:
  1. Regional strategic planning and reporting
  • Develop an effective strategic plan for the region to ensure the successful and impactful delivery of Achievement for All Programmes in line with the charity’s vision, mission and aims to support retention and new recruitment.
  • Ensure that all programme delivery and impact reporting requirements are met in line with the programme delivery operating procedures;
  • Adopt a high-quality approach to ensure that all organisational operating procedures and processes are adhered toat all times;
  1. Programme delivery, development, management and quality assurance
  • Ensure the effective and high-quality delivery of the Achievement for All programmes/products in all settings across the region is in line with the charity’s programme delivery operating procedures and quality standards framework at all times;
  1. Leadership and Management of Regional Delivery Team
  • Ensure effective high quality, robust performance management and line-management of the regional Deputy Regional Leads is in line with the charity’s Human Resources policies and processes and programme delivery operating procedures at all times;
  • Ensure the effective high-quality line-management of Achievement Coaches is in place and being adhered to in line with the charity’s HR and operating procedures at all times;
  • To manage the regional priority of retention through quality assurance.
  1. Maintain and develop key stakeholder relationships
  • Support relationships with key stakeholders to develop, implement and embed the Achievement for All programmes across the designated region, promoting Achievement for All at all times and by engaging key partners;
  • Liaise and secure relationships with Headteachers, senior leaders and other commissioners, ensuring there is a high-quality customer focused approach to relationship management;
  • Liaise with Local Authority leaders and other key stakeholders in order to coordinate effective support in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Achievement for All programmes.
  • Adopt and employ a positive effective working relationship with colleagues and teams across the charity to ensure that all strategic objectives are met and are driven by programme and customer needs;

  • Represent the charity internally and externally employing high levels of professionalism and discretion at all times;
  • Act within the best interests of the charity at all times, specifically declaring and addressing any potential conflicts of interest with your line manager;

  • Demonstrate commitment to the Charity’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies and Procedures at all times, including a commitment to and working within the parameters of the Code of Practice for all staff and by ensuring you take responsibility for completing the required training relevant to your role;
  • Work within the all parameters and guidance set out within all other charity policies and procedures at all times, especially HR related procedures;
  • Undertake other duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the duties and level of the post as directed by your line manager.

Person specification

Area / Description
Knowledge / Understanding of effective practice in the achievement of vulnerable and underachieving groups, special education needs, assessment and intervention strategies and monitoring of pupils’ progress.
Understanding of the role of parents in contributing effectively to their child’s learning and provision.
Understanding of the role of local authority, Academy Trusts, Ofsted and Regional Commissioners and improving provision and outcomes for children and young people.
Understand the culture and working practices of schools and other education providers.
Knowledge of the current curriculum, assessment, learning and teaching, and leadership and management of schools and other settings, particularly in relation to underachieving and vulnerable groups.
Skills and abilities / Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Good organisational and self-management skills.
Ability to use data and IT to monitor and analyse school and programme performance
The ability to work with senior leaders in schools and local authorities.
Ability to create a ‘can do’ culture and manage change effectively
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to assess and manage resource requirements and manage competing priorities flexibly.
Experience / Leading regional or national partnerships
Recent and successful experience of leading and managing education initiatives at school or Local Authority level.
Leading strategies that have improved outcomes for vulnerable children
Educational:
Essential / Appropriate professional qualifications, including a first degree and evidence of relevant further professional development/Qualified Teacher Status.
Desirable / Masters level or equivalent qualification in Education or NPQH.
Special requirements / This post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
