Ritesh S. Ramakrishnan:
Leader-shipping At Its Finest
What I know about Ritesh Ramakrishnan, 22, is the kind of the leader that he is. He wants people to follow him because “he doesn’t micromanage and he will do anything in his power to get his employees and himself to be successful at whatever they set out to do”. Those words sum up the kind of person that Ritesh wants to be in the future as a shipping and distribution manager in Dubai at his family’s business.
Ritesh admires hard work, honesty, forthrightness and humility in a leader. His inspiration for leadership happens to be his father. “Success is directly proportional to the effort” was his father’s motto that was then passed down to him. Whether Ritesh is working in London with the Marketing and Chartering Department at American Eagle Tankers Ltd. or in Dubai spending time with the accounting and operations teams at Transworld Group of Companies, he makes sure that the job is always completed successfully and only with sincerity and trustworthiness.
Throughout his life, Ritesh has garnered a handful of prestigious schooling experience and certificates. He started his schooling at the Modern School of Dubai and moved to a boarding school in the UK in the 6th grade. The following year, he returned to Dubai and began attending the American School of Dubai, which he then graduated high school from. Ritesh has also earned the CILT certification (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport), and completed the Galbraith’s Course (from the world renowned ship broking firm). Those two supplements to his education are extremely helpful to Ritesh because they taught him about a lot of various aspects of shipping in great detail, and it broadened his network due to the consistent socializing with peers and advisors.
When Ritesh isn’t working or in school, he enjoys playing tennis and cricket. His favorite sport to watch is soccer; he is an avid supporter of the Inter Milan soccer club. Aside from sports, Ritesh enjoys long drives, smoking hookah with friends, and listening to music, especially classical music and classic rock.
Ritesh currently resides in West Lafayette, Indiana but permanently lives in New York, NY.
