Leadership:
  • Lead 13 full-time professionals, 10 graduate students and 250 student workers who are responsible for special events, club and intramural sports (10,000 participants), fitness (including massage, personal training, group exercise and Pilates with over 900 participants), youth programs (including Trojan Kids Camp and After School Sports Connection), aquatic programs, student development, and all recreational facilities.
  • Manage appearances, budget, development and all logistics of the 30 member USC Spirit Squad including USC Song Girls, USC Spirit Leaders, Traveler, and the Trojan Mascot who participate in over 125 events per year.
  • Manage $350,000 budget, staffing, facility maintenance and programs for the 10,000 sq. ft. Health Sciences Campus Fitness Center.
  • Serve on the leadership team in the Division of Student Affairs, to advise on Student Affairs policy and procedure and evaluate student needs.
  • Serve on the Leadership Commission for the National Intramural Recreation Association (NIRSA); assist in the creation of a recreational sports student staff leadership
  • Physical Education Department; develop academic curriculum for group exercise and personal training instruction; Teach health, wellness, and fitness concepts to USC students.
Communication:
  • Liaise, collaborate negotiate with various university stakeholders including Student Affairs, Academic Departments, Department of Athletics, Alumni and the Trojan Marching Band.
  • Represent USC for Pac-12 Recreational Sports Directors Consortium; Created and implemented the Pac-12 Fitness Challenge.
  • Coordinate and lead annual USC Union Square pep rally in San Francisco with over 2,000 attendees; Collaborated with SF Parks & Recs, Union Sq mgmt., SFPD, Alumni Association and Trojan Marching Band to execute plans.
Project Management:
  • Design, draft, propose and coordinate the annual $1.5MM Recreational Sports departmental budget as it relates to student wages, equipment purchases, programming, facility repairs and future needs.
  • Conceptualized and designed all aspects of the fitness and group exercise programs; Includes 35-40 instructors, schedule, budget and facilities.
  • Analyze and manage sources of revenue: facility rental, membership campaign, corporate sponsors and donors resulting in annual revenue of $1MM.
  • Designed, purchased equipment for, and oversaw 4 major renovation projects of USC Lyon Center (58,000 sq. ft. recreation and fitness space) and construction, design, equipment purchase and layout of Health Science Campus Fitness Center; Presented plan to Vice Provost and Provost Designee, gaining buy-in and support.
