LAYOUT DESIGN ANALYSIS ASSIGNMENT

Practice – 4 points

  1. First, select a web page.
  2. Copy the web page using the snipping tool.
  3. Open Snipping Tool by clicking theStartbutton. In the search box, typeSnipping Tool, and then, in the list of results, clickSnipping Tool.
  4. Click the arrow next to theNewbutton, selectFree-form Snip,Rectangular Snip,Window Snip, orFull-screen Snipfrom the list, and then select the area of your screen that you want to capture.
  5. Paste the web page into an MS Word document. (If you have just taken the snip, all you have to do is use the “paste” function in MS Word.) Make the word document “landscape” and stretch the picture of the web page to fill most of the page.
  6. If necessary, take multiple screen shots and place them on the page.
  7. Save the document. Call it “layout design analysis”.
  8. Print the page.
  9. What to label on your sheet: (feel free to use post it notes if necessary to explain!)

a)put a box around a good use of a table-

b)put a circle around the title/banner-

c)put stars around the navigation links-

d)label the use of balance by writing the word “balance”-

e)label the use of proximity by writing the word “proximity”

f)continue the labeling of all design principles and elements: line, shape, texture, space, size/scale, value, alignment, repetition, contrast.
