ABA 2016 Showcase Panel Proposal Request
Title: Legal Process Excellence - How Do Clients Define It and How Can You Achieve It?
Description: The session will include a panel of in-house counsel, outside counsel and other legal service providers to investigate each representative's definition of legal process excellence and how it can be achieved. The session will include a discussion of best practices for clarifying expectations, legal project management, development of budgets and estimates, when alternative pricing makes sense, and how to integrate outsourcing and technology.
Objectives: (1) Clarify what clients expect from their lawyers with regard to legal process excellence; (2) Define how legal process excellence can be achieved.
·  Aspects that Make the Panel Unique: The panel will include: (1) in-house counsel who will identify the best service delivery model; (2) innovative outside counsel who will demonstrate different methodologies for improving legal services; and (3) other legal service providers such as LPOs who will provide different examples of how they fit into the law firm / client framework.

Sub-committee meetings are being held during January 2016 and objectives and deliverables will be confirmed at the February 26, 2016 meeting of the committee. Preliminarily, the objectives of the subcommittees will be as follows:
·  Ebilling - Recommendations for improvements to the UTBMS codes
·  Engagement Letter Form - Development of a form engagement letter which incorporates LPM components.
·  LPM Technology - Updated survey of technology which can be implemented for legal operations
·  ACC Collaboration / Joint Meeting - Develop a joint working committee between these 2 orginazations.
·  Webinars / ABA LPM Bootcamp for 2016 and Resource Development - Spring webinar for LPM101, LPM Advanced, and Guidance on implementing LPM in a law firm.
·  Law School Curriculum for LPM Classes - Proposal of a standard curriculum for LPM courses at ABA Accredited Law Schools / 2), 3), 4), 5), 6), 7)
