About the Scholarship

The QUT Business School is pleased to offer the 2018 ‘Getting Started’ Scholarship for commencing Business students to contribute to the academic and career success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Through this scholarship, four (4) students will be provided with financial support in the commencement of their studies at QUT in order to assist them to acquire the knowledge, skills and qualifications necessary to pursue a career in Business.

Scholarship Duration and Value

The scholarship is tenable for one year, valued at $4,000 (paid in semester instalments after census date).

Who is Eligible?

  • The scholarship is open to applicants who are of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, who identify as Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and who are so considered by the community in which the student lives or has lived.
  • Applicants must be graduating from Year 12 in Australia in 2018 and commencing their studies with QUT Business School in 2019.
  • Applicants must have applied through QTAC for a part time or full time place in a Bachelor of Business single or double degree program, including those seeking admission via QUT’s Centralised Assessment Selection Program (CASP).
  • Applicants who hold other scholarships or bursaries (e.g. Commonwealth or Equity Scholarships) are eligible to apply.
  • Applications will be assessed and awarded based on suitability to the scholarship profile and demonstrated achievements at school and/or TAFE.
