GETTING FROM/TO AIRPORT

The journey from the Airport to Riga city centre can vary from 15 min to 40 min depending on the traffic and your choice of transportation. Please read carefully the following options for a range of transportation at your service.

airBalticAirport Express

For more comfortable getting to/from Riga airport airBaltic offers shuttle bus service – Airport Express. The bus serves the route between RigaAirport and several hotels at Riga city centre. Buses depart every 30 minutes in front of the airport departure exit and cost 3 Lats (5 euro) one way. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver. Payment - only in cash - Latvian Lats or Euro or you can purchase Airport Express tickets beforehand online.

For those staying at AlbertHotel - Airport Express takes you directly to the hotel.

For those staying at Art Hotel Laine – you can get out at the bus stop “Radisson Blue Hotel Latvija” or “Albert Hotel” and walk for 10-15 min to your hotel.

Taxi

Taxi to the city centre cost around 10 LVL/15 euro. We recommend using BalticTaxi services. Their green cabs are lined up just outside the RigaAirport departure exit. Payment is either in cash in local currency or credit card. You can also book a taxi at the information desk on the ground floor of RigaAirport or by calling: (+371)20008500 or 8500.

Public transport

The cheapest way to get from the RigaInternationalAirport to the city centre is by bus Nr. 22 which leaves airport every 10-30 minutes. Journey time is about 30 minutes and costs 70 santims (around 1 EUR).

Bus stop is located outside the airport, across the parking-lot in front of the arrival exit. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver inside the bus. Make sure you have some local money ready because the payment on the bus is only in cashand only inlocal currency. The bus brings you close to the OldCity and Central Bus/Train station (bus stop Stockmann centrs) from where most hotels and theatre venues are in a walking distance.

E-tickets for public transport

For all public transportation we suggest buying e-tickets for a certain amount of rides (from 1 to as many as you wish). Bought beforehand, a single fare is 0,50 LVL. If you buy 10 rides or more, it will be cheaper. When entering a public transport – bus, trolleybus or tram, you have to register your ride. One e-ticket is valid for one ride, no transfers can be made.

The best place to buy e-tickets are newspaper outlets or kiosks of Narvesen andPlus punkts.

You can also buy a single ticket on board from the driver, and it costs 0,70 LVL(around 1 Euro). We would not suggest you riding without a ticket because “public transport ticket inspections” happen quite frequently.

More information on e-tickets can be found here:E-ticket
