Late February Player Agenda
Saturday, 2/21 – Greenbrier Championship @ Champions Retreat in Augusta
The SPX bus leaves from behind the gym at 6:30a and returns in the 7:00p-8:30p range.
Lineup is Drew Owens (10:00a), Daniel McKenzie (10:10a), Griffin Diamantis (10:20a), Fitz Smoak (10:30a), Bobby Hogan (10:40a), and Matthew DeLorme (10:50a). Mikey Lopez & Harrison Bernhardt are travelling as alternates.
We will grab a quick Chick-Fil-A breakfast along the way. After the round, we will likely stop off for a light dinner on the way back to Atlanta. There will be lunch for the players as they play.
Monday, 2/23 – First POD Day (even if the weather turns ugly….if it does, go inside!)
POD leaders (called “bosses”) will notify their players what site they’re going to. What we’re expecting is a good, solid 2 hours of work in your POD groups. POD Groups are (bosses in bold): Andrew Carson, Connor Dowd, Munro Lortie, Taylor Whitcomb; Drew Owens, Harrison Bernhardt, Matthew DeLorme; Fitz Smoak, Michael Brown, Daniel McKenzie, Joey Rufolo; Griffin Diamantis, Trip Koenig, Mikey Lopez, Charles Stouffer; Bobby Hogan, Zach Pescitelli, Chris Techman, Jay T Trupiano
Tuesday, 2/24 – 9 hole qualifying round at Berkeley Hills, 4:00p tee time
Bobby Hogan, Michael Brown, and Jay T Trupiano will host Mikey Lopez, Harrison Bernhardt, Andrew Carson, Joey Rufolo, Matthew DeLorme, and a player TBA (either Fitz Smoak or Chris Techman, depending on whether Fitz earns an exemption to the Jekyll trip).
Given that there are at least 6 golfers not being invited to the mainline qualifier, I’m curious to see if anyone takes some initiative and organizes a 3-, 4-, or 6-man qualifier on their own! Just be sure to see Coach Cook on Monday to cover the vital elements of how it should be set up and played!!!
Wednesday, 2/25 – Blue Giraffe Golf Institute Open House @ Heritage Golf Links, 3:45p to 6:00p
All players are invited except those of you who have already spoken to me. When you arrive by/at 3:45p, please wait with Coach Cook in the area around the putting green at the main clubhouse – we’ll walk out together.
Thursday, 2/26 – SPX JV vs. SPX Middle School Team @ The Hooch, 3:40p to 6:30p

Friday, 2/27 – Varsity Squad Travels to Jekyll Island, 12:30p practice round/qualifier
We leave from SPX at 5:30a. Yes, that’s FIVE THIRTY AM. We’ll find breakfast along the way & lunch upon arrival at the course. The practice round group will be Drew, Daniel, and Griffin; the 4 playoff spots will be set by two things: the top four Greenbrier scores (must be 82 or better to be eligible), then the qualifier results from 2/24.
Saturday, 2/28 – The Johnny Paulk Invitational @ Pine Lakes GC, Jekyll Island
Details pending, including tee times and pairings. Lineup will include Drew, Daniel, and Griffin.
