Larger bin requests - rubbish and recycling

Residents on a wheeled bin collection can request to exchange their bins for larger bins. Residents on a sack collection can request extra sacks.

Additional general rubbish capacity

Only households with five or more permanent residents, or those with two or more children in nappies, will be considered for additional rubbish capacity.

Additional recycling capacity

The Council will consider all applications for additional recycling capacity.

Application

Only completed applications will be considered. This must include supporting documents for each resident, as proof of residency. Photocopies of the following will be accepted: NHS medical card / driving licence / passport / birth certificate / state benefit book or letter / school letter / utilities bill.

To process your application, we require the names, dates of birth, and proof of residency for all permanent residents in your household, including adults and children. Failure to provide copies of adequate documentation will result in an unsuccessful application. Copies of any documentation will be treated in strictest confidence, will not be used by other parties and will be destroyed after use.

If your application to exchange your bin is successful, we will require that you leave your existing bin(s) on your property boundary, so that we may exchange it. You may continue to use your bin in the meantime.

Please note, the provision of larger bins is subject to review, and the Council may withdrawlarger bins if the Council believes the household no longer meets the specified criteria.

Declaration: I declare the above information is true and accurate. I will inform the Council if my circumstances or details change. I understand that provision of a larger bin is subject to review. If I do not recycle or if the Council believes my household no longer meets the required criteria, my larger bin may be withdrawn. The bin remains the property of the Council.
