FAMILY & FRIENDS NEWSLETTER (June, 2016)
- END-OF-YEAR ASSEMBLY ~ please come along!
- This takes place on Monday, 27 June at 1.45pm in our School Assembly Hall.
- Lunch break on Monday, 27 June will be from 12 noon to 1pm.
- This is an opportunity to celebrate the end of another great year at Ladeside and also a chance to say ‘Goodbye & Good Luck’ to our Primary 7 pupils.
- The Assembly will last approx. one hour.
- Please enter by the main front door.
- Doors open at 1.15pm.
- Please be careful about car parking in and around the school.
- The rear playground (where the gazebois) will be available after 1.10pm if you wish to park your car away from the main road.
- The collection at the door will be donated to our School Charities (Pupil Council to decide).
- Families and friends of P7 pupils ~ there will be reserved seats for you if you wish to use them (front 4 rows).
- Prams etc. should be left outside the Hall. However, if you do need to bring these into the Hall, please stay at the back so that the way is clear should we need to evacuate the Hall quickly.

- Everyone who celebrates a birthday in June.
- Our 37 x P7 pupils who took part in the Larbert High production of ‘Camp Rock’. You were great!
- All of our pupils who participated in our recent ‘Ladeside’s Got Talent’ event. And we certainly have!! Pupils who reached the finals were

Our P1-3 winner was Becky MacLeod who sang ‘When I’m 64’. Loved the wig, Becky!
Our P4-7 winners were Fergus Smith who sang ‘You are my sunshine’ and played the ukulele and kazoo! Great work Fergus ~ loved your hat! Joint winners with Fergus were the ‘Fabulous Four’ ~ a group of talented dancers and singers from P7M. Sophie & Abbie sang ‘Seven Years Old’ while Gabby & Natasha performed an excellent dance routine. Well done girls ~ great teamwork!
- Samuel Ryder, P1L, who won a gold medal at Multi-sports club at Larbert High School.
- Lloyd McNaughton, P1L, who won a silver medal for patterns and bronze for sparring at Scottish Championships of XS Taekwondo.
- Lauren Bain, P1L, who achieved Under 6 Dance Test 2-Disco Freestyle Dance with Honours.
- Stuart Sime, P6D, received End of year badge and trophy for Best Boy 2016 and Best Squad at 2nd Larbert Boys’ Brigade Annual Inspection.
- Adam Sime, P4N, received End of year badge and a joint plaque & trophy for Junior Section Best Recruits 2016.
- Ewan Sime, P5/4, received End of year badge and a joint plaque & trophy for Junior Section Best Recruits 2016.
- Ryan Milne & Hayden Rowe, P4N, who came second in a BB football tournament and won a trophy.
- Reece Stewart, P4N, won bronze medal in Judo competition.
- Chloe Nisbet, P4N, who came first and won a trophy at Gymnastics competition.
- Latham Ryder, P4N, who took part in a 5k walk to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice.
- Hannah MacLeod, P4N, passed her Grade 1 Piano Exam with distinction.
- TUESDAY, 28 June/last day of term
- The school year ends at 1.30pm on Tuesday, 28 June, 2016.
- All pupils are expected to be in school on that day, unless parents/carers have notified the school in advance.
- This will be a non-uniform day with our collection (50p per pupil) going to our School Charities (chosen by Pupil Council).
- School Lunches on 28 June – Option 3 will be available (sandwiches)
- No home lunches on 28 June as all pupils will be going home at 1.30pm.
- Pupils may bring Packed Lunches from home (or, a snack) if they wish.
- School bell will ring at 1.30pm to signal the start of the Summer break. No school on Tuesday afternoon.
- School, Nursery and Base re-open on Wednesday, 24 August, 2016.
PLEASE NOTE
- Pupils should take home all packed lunch boxes, gym shoes/PE kit and any other clothing on Tuesday 28 June.
- If you have ordered school uniform please collect it on either

I look forward to seeing most of you at our final Assembly, on Monday 27 June at 1.45pm but, meanwhile, I would like to say thank you, on behalf of all staff,for your continuing support of our school. We look forward to working with you in Session 2016-2017.
