Brief description of Project : its purpose and the principal activities (including when and where) :
Technological innovations and globalization has brought rapid change of competencies required by enterprises and labor market. It has become prominent to sustain employability throughout the whole working lives.
Based on the situation, the government of Japan is planning to hold the APEC HRD Forum 2007 with the theme of “Sustainable Career Development throughout Working Life”, on 16-18 November 2007, in OVTA (Overseas Vocational Training Association), Chiba, Japan. The main purposes of the forum are to exchange information on current situation and government measures taken by each economy and to discuss good practices on the HRD policies with the limited budget of government resources.
The main agenda items are as follows;
a)The situation of HRD in different career stages of workers
b)The measures and policies to support career development throughout working life of workers in each economy such as national skills evaluation system, and the issues provoked upon policy implementation.
c)Exploring the possibilities of ECOTECH projects on the above mentioned issues among APEC economies
