researches inteRESTS

  • Synthesis of mono- and polynuclear coordination compounds of transition elements (nd, 4f) with mono- (H2O, R-Py, THF, DMAA etc) and polidentat ligands of Schiff Base type and carboxylic acids;
  • Investigation of their molecular and crystalline structure (in collaboration with other research groups);
  • Deciphering of IR, UV/Vis, Mössbauer, NMR, TG and EPR spectra of the synthesized substances;
  • Testing of the obtained clusters as bioactive substances, magnetic molecules and MOFs.

The laboratory covers seven locations equipped for synthesis of different chemical substances. There is the Gouy installation for measurements of magnetic properties of complexes in the temperature range 300-110K, the Mössbauer spectrometer of electrodynamic type with measurement range 300-80K. There is an acces to IR, UV/Vis, NMR, TG and EPR (IC, CMFFCC of ASM, USM).

The head of laboratory, Professor Turtă Constantin is an author and co-author of more than 180 scientific articles, published in reviewed journals, of a lecture course covering the field of Mössbauer spectroscopy for the students of chemistry departments, of 26 author patents. He represented numerous oral and poster scientific presentation at different international and local conferences. Prof. C. Turtă, invented a preparation with anticloroz properties for vine that is introduced in the list of the preparations recommended for agriculture. He was awarded a "L.A. Ciugaev” medal. At different international and ex-union (USSR) conferences such as „Physical Methods in Coordination and Supramolecular Chemistry”, The International "L.A. Ciugaev” Conference on Coordination Chemistry, The Conference of the R Moldova Chemical Society, he was a member of Organizing Committee. Corresponding member C. Turtă is a member of the Moldova Chemical Society and was included in the list of members of the International Bioinorganic Chemistry Society (2001-2004); a member of editorial boards of „Revista de Chimie”, Bucharest, România; University “Lucian Blaga” „ACTA UNIVERSITATIS CIBINIENSIS. Seria F CHEMIA”, Sibiu, Romania; „Chemical Journal of Moldova”, Chişinău, Moldova. Over 20 years Prof. Turtă conducted lectures at the State University of Moldova and at the Technical University of Moldova. He is a member of Commission of National Council on Accreditation and Attestation (Chemistry) and a member of expertise commission of SCSTD ASM.
