La Sole’s International Performing Arts Academy -Policies & Regulations

ATTENDANCE – Attendance at all of the student’s scheduled classes for which they are registered is mandatory. Absence due to illness, injury or special circumstances may be excused, if notified. There will be no adjustments made to your tuition or monthly payment for absences. Excused absences can be made up in another class (permission from instructor required to attend a more advanced level class). Missed classes must be made up within the month. The studio will teach 4 weeks out of every month. No classes on 5th weeks, unless it is to be used as a make-up for holiday closure or other missed class. DRESS CODE – Comfortable work-out or dance pants, Ladies- leotard or tight form fitting top. Jeans are not dance attire!

For Flamenco: please wear flamenco or character shoes/boots. Castanets if needed for class. Ask your instructor about accessories before purchasing. Ladies should have their skirts for every class.

For Belly dance: Bring your shimmy/coin belt & accessories (zills, veils, etc..) Ask your instructor before buying any accessories.

Ole y Ole Jr. Company - A Nuestro Aire Company & Los Festeros:

–Leotard, or dance top or fitted t-shirt (black or dark colors are best). Flamenco skirt (preferably black). Flamenco shoes or character shoes approved by instructor. All hair tied back away from the face with rubber band or in a bun, if you have long sections of bangs that drape into the face you may need to wear barrettes or clips and or a headband. Minimal jewelry (long necklaces and earrings can get caught up and interfere you’re your dancing, please no bangle bracelets or extra large rings. Company members must bring all accessories to rehearsals including but not limited to fans, castanets, shawls, tambourines, ballet/jazz shoe for jotas etc.

NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED ON THE DANCE FLOOR. –Water bottles are permitted in designated areas. No open food or drinks are allowed in the reception area. Food items must be consumed outside and liter is to be disposed of in the waste containers.

To avoid the possibility of theft, students should leave jewelry and valuables at home or locked in their vehicles during class. La Sole & the International Performing Arts Academy & instructors cannot assume responsibility or liability for lost or stolen items, especially when items are left unattended during class times.

NO SMOKING –Smoking is not permitted in the Studio at any time. If smoking occurs in the parking lot, please be sure that there is no debris thrown on the floor & please use the trash/waste bins.

Courtesy – Cell phone should be silenced during class, only to be left on in case you need to be reached as an emergency. No Cell phones on the dance floor. La Sole’s International Performing Arts Academy is a School of dance. Attendance to all classes is very important to the student to the class. Please call (626) 274-9943 or (626) 274-1500 if you or your child will be missing a class, and we strongly encourage you to make up any missed classes. If you are more than 5 minutes late for class please join the class in progress quietly & incorporate yourself at the rear/back. If you are more than 20 minutes late, please refrain from joining, as you have missed the warm-up & simply observe the class in progress. Instructors have the final say on determining student placement in classes. All monthly payments are due by the second class of each month; otherwise classes will be billed at the higher drop-in single class rate, or charged a $5 late fee. Returned checks are subject to a $25 fee. The studio holds a recital once a year & we encourage all students to participate. There are costs involved in performing: there is a recital fee, costumes need to be made & students are expected to either buy/sell a given number of tickets. Students must be consistent in attendance or they may not be able to perform.
