KWU SAKURA OVER SOZH INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR

KYOKUSHIN KARATE KUMITE COMPETITION AMONG 10-17 AGED BOYS AND GIRLS,

GOMEL, THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

Dates of competition: October 27 – 29, 2017

Organizers: Kyokushin World Union and Kyokushin-kan international in Belarus.

Eligibility:

Representatives of national federations and all concerned kyokushin groups of the country, aged 10-17 with at least 7 Kyu style grade, are eligible to compete.

Schedule of Events:

Financial provisions:

Start fee - 10 (ten) EUR.

Sayonara - 10 (ten) EUR.

All expenses connected with sending participants, heads of delegations, coaches and judges, as part of delegations (travel, accommodation, food, living, etc.) to the competition, are covered by sending organizations.

Applications to participate:

Deadline for final applications (Annex 1) is October 14, 2017.

NOTE: The following documents shall be submitted along with preliminary applications:

1)  Hotel accommodation form (Annex 5);

2)  Judges list (Annex 2);

3)  General preliminary application for a delegation (Annex 6).

The final application shall be sent by e-mail and have all necessary signatures and seals.

Only applications of set forms of shall be accepted (Annex 1). Applications shall be signed by authorised officials - representatives from federations, clubs, schools, whose contestants will participate.

Original applications along with accompanying documents shall be submitted by the team representative to the credential committee.

General rule:

Competition will be held according to KWU kyokushinkai rules.

Judges:

Only 1 person from sending association who is experienced in judging at alike competitions, is allowed.

The exact number of judges will be set by the Organizing Committee. For Application Form for judges see Annex 2.

The Organizing Committee shall compensate the judges for accommodation and food during competition period.

Applications from judges are accepted until October 14. On October 18, the Organizing Committee shall define official judges of the tournament.

Awards:

Decision criteria:

Kumite will be held according to single-elimination tournament. No third-place bouts will be conducted.

Awarding of winners and prize-winners

Winners and prize-winners of the competition will be awarded with medals and diplomas, as well as cups of relevant grades.

Weight categories and teams composition:

The Organizing Committee shall reserve the right to change the age limits of the weight categories provided that weight difference of contestants will be not more than 5 kg, except for absolute weight category.

The age of a contestant will be defined as of the date of credential committee , i.e. as of October 28, 2017.

Requirements for contestants

The team representative must provide the credential committee with the original application; each contestant must have the following documents:

-  passport or Birth Certificate (for minor participants);

-  written consent to compete from both parents;

-  accident insurance valid at the date of the tournament (original, in English, Russian or Belarusian language(s));

-  written application of a contestant – see Annex 3.

Protection:

Each contestant allowed to compete must have:

-  white do-gi and a belt corresponding the contestant's qualification;

-  individual groin protectors for junior men and boys is obligatory; upon desire for junior girls and girls;

-  shin and instep protectors for junior girls and girls;

-  elbow, knee guards - upon desire;

-  hand pads are obligatory;

-  helmets are obligatory for both sexes;

-  breast protectors - for нагрудник установленного образца – junior girls and girls;

-  teeth protector, white color - upon desire.

In case of teeth brackets, teeth protectors are obligatory.

All protection means shall be marked by the Organizing Committee.

All participants will be provided with an opportunity to acquire protection means before the credential committee.

NOTE: all contestants should have individual protectors!

Junior men/girls (10-13 years old) age group

Elimination rounds: 1.5 minute + 1 minute + weighing (2 kg and more weight difference) + 1 minute.

Semifinals & finals: 1.5 minute + 1 minute + weighing (2 kg and more weight difference) + 1 minute.

Junior men/girls (12-13 years old)

Elimination rounds: 2 minutes + 1 minute + weighing (2.5 kg and more weight difference) + 1 minute.

Semifinals & finals: 2 minutes + 1 minute + weighing (2.5 kg and more weight difference) + 1 minute.

Boys/girls (14-15 years old) age group

Elimination rounds: 2 minutes + 2 minutes + weighing (2.5 kg and more weight difference) + 1 minute.

Semifinals & finals: 2 minutes + 2 minutes + weighing (2.5 kg and more weight difference) + 1 minute.

Junior men/girls (16-17 years old) age group
