KSJS On-Air Agreement
I,______, agree to the follow all KSJS and FCC rules, policies, and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, the following.
1. As the engineer/operator/DJ responsible for a specific shift, I will show up for that DJ shift, public affairs program, or sports broadcast; I understand that I must get a substitute when I cannot do my show, (per the procedures in the Fill-In Policy in the KSJS On-Air Operator Handbook), and I must inform the Program Director and put the name of the Fill-In in the Fill- In envelope located outside the General Office. I understand that all public affairs and specialty music shows must show within 15 minutes of the top of hour or the show will not broadcast (reverting to the musical block); if I do show up, I must end at my normal end time. I WILL NOT LEAVE THE ON-AIR STUDIO UNATTENDED for more than 5 minutes, unless the Program Director has been informed, and only then I will leave and be subjected to questioning by the KSJS Management Staff. I will be prepared to commit to at least two fill-ins a month as cleared with and needed by the Program Director.
2. I will not willingly or unknowingly broadcast (speak live or play pre-recorded) ANY obscene language or indecent material on KSJS airwaves. I will not play any song or speak live any lyrics considered obscene or indecent per FCC rules during my shift will not be the responsibility of the radio station, and any fine will be handled by myself.
3. I will not willingly perform any seriously violation of a FCC regulation, this includes but is not limited to:
a. Falsification of the FCC Transmitter Log
b. Leaving the transmitter on unattended
c. Failure to air the legal ID at the top of the hour
4. I will completely fill out FCC Transmitter/Program Logs, as well as Music and/of Public Affairs Logs.
5. I will not destroy or deface any station equipment or property.
6. I will not change programming on KSJS without PRIOR NOTIFICATION of the Program Director. This includes but is not limited to: not airing and abiding by the proper format or public affairs program at the proper time slot; change in music programming ;unauthorized band interviews; not airing disclaimers, etc
7. I will not allow unauthorized KSJS participants and/or air operator trainees to operate the board and/or speak on air without prior approval from the Program Director (this includes filling out a GUEST REQUEST FORM). Any guest that does appear on my must sign the KSJS waiver form BEFORE appearing on air. I will not bring and air music not approved by the KSJS Music Director.
8. I will represent the station in a professional manner over the air.
9. I will clean up the studio before the next on-air operator takes over. This includes, but is not limited to: putting away records, CDs, or other media; organizing all binders; throwing away garbage, etc.
10. I will not bring in or consumer food, beverages and/or illegal drugs in any KSJS studio or near any KSJS equipment. I will not perform any lewd or sexual acts in ANY of the KSJS studios or near any KSJS equipment.
11. I will accept the punishment handed to me by the KSJS Management Staff I have breeched this On-Air Agreement for 90.5 FM KSJS.
I, being a KSJS On-Air Operator of sound mind and body, am fully aware of all FCC and KSJS rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. I will abide by all rules contained within the On-Air Operator Handbook, and KSJS Operations and Policy Handbook, all KSJS and FCC rules, regulations, polices, and procedures, and attend the weekly KSJS meetings.
