Korea University Business School Internship Agreement

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of this Agreement is to determine the terms and conditions for the implementation of the internship between Korea University Business School (“KUBS” henceforth) and ABC, Inc. (“The Organization” henceforth) and to confirm mutual agreement on its operation and completion.

Article 2 (KUBS Obligations)

① KUBS will provide active notification and promotional services for the effective operation of the internship program. Participating (KUBS) students will be granted academic credits for the internship experience.

② KUBS may require the Organization to select participating students for the internship and conduct necessary training in advance.

Article 3 (Organization Obligations)

① The Organization should consider the aptitude and preferences of the Intern selected by KUBS in assigning him/her to a corresponding department, and should, as a result, provide an opportunity for the Intern to experience a diverse and broad internship experience.

② The Organization should protect the interests of the Intern in the case than an internship ends prematurely and should make sure that he/she is not given significant, lasting penalties.

Article 4 (Intern Obligations)

An intern should comply with the following conditions in order to achieve the educational purpose of internship.

① The Intern must register for the Internship course offered by KUBS.

② The Intern must complete and submit a report after completing the internship.

③ The Intern must comply with institutional and safety management regulations of the Organization.

④ The Intern must not disclose confidential business information obtained through the internship experience.

⑤ The Intern must report to the school immediately if an incident occurs during the internship.

Article 5 (Measures for Violation of Intern Obligations)

Interns corresponding to the following clauses will not be granted academic credits and disciplinary action may be taken according to the relevant issue.

① An unauthorized absentee corresponding to reasons for disciplinary action indicated in the institutional regulations of the Organization.

② One who intentionally hinders or disrupts the order of the place of internship.

③ One who intentionally interferes with the Organization work or goes against the interests of the Organization.

④ One who damages the institutional reputation of the school through unauthorized student behavior.

Article 6 (Quota and Selection)

The quota and selection will be determined by the Organization.

Article 7 (Internship Period)

The internship period shall be for 4 weeks or more in the regular semester or summer/winter vacation, where the detailed dates and schedules of the internship will be determined by the Organization.

Article 8 (Internship Hours and Salary)

The internship hours and salary will be determined according to the regulation of the Organization.

Article 9 (Evaluation of Intern)

For the purposes of intern assessment, KUBS must provide evaluation criteria and related forms to the Organization. The Organization should, in turn, notify KUBS regarding the performance assessment of the intern based on KUBS evaluation criteria at the end of the internship. However, if the Organization has its own evaluation criteria for interns according to its regulations, the Organization may use its internal criteria for evaluation instead, following agreement with KUBS.

Article 10 (Academic Credits)

After the end of the internship, academic credits shall be granted based on the evaluation by the Organization and the final evaluation by KUBS.

Article 11 (Faculty Appointment for Interns)

In order to provide effective management and guidance for interns, KUBS and the Organization will designate the intern’s academic advisor as the Department Chair.

Article 12 (Measures for Intern Safety and Health)

① The Organization must provide safety and health education as well as necessary safety measures for interns in order to prevent potential accidents.

② The Organization must prepare response measures, such as insurance coverage, in case of accidents during interning hours involving the intern, and the Organization must take appropriate actions and report immediately to KUBS in case of accidents.

③ KUBS has to instruct interns to acquire insurance in case of accidents during personal activities not related to the internship practice and confirm that the student is covered with the insurance during internship period.

Article 13 (Termination of Internship)

In the case of inevitable circumstances in which this agreement must be terminated during the period of the internship, the agreement may be terminated following mutual agreement between KUBS and the Organization. The termination of the internship must be notified to all parties involved at least ten days before the date of termination.

Article 14 (Other)

Issues not included in this agreement shall be determined through discussion and mutual agreement.

This agreement shall be signed by KUBS, the Organization and the student intern; one copy will be kept for documentation purposes by each party.
