KnowledgeNH Panel Uncovers Gold

Knowledge New Hampshire will present it’s first executive forum, “Finding Gold: Recognizing Opportunities in the Knowledge Economy”, on Tuesday, September 30th at 6:30 PM at Rivier College in Nashua.

The panel will focus on how theemerging economy is developing, provide examples of
companies who have discovered "gold" through increased sales and productivity,
andshare their insight on howto identify emerging opportunities. Panelists will also take questions from the attendees.

Panelists include Carl Frappaolo, Executive Vice President, and co-founder of Delphi Group, Jesse Devitte, Managing Director of Borealis Ventures, Tom McCorkhill, Portal Strategist for Staples, and Joseph Carrabis, CEO of NextStage Evolution, LLC.

About the Panelists

The panelists for the September 30th event are as follows:

Joseph Carrabis, CEO NextStage Evolution.

Mr Carrabis has authored 22 books and 225 articles in five areas of expertise. His books have covered cultural anthropology, database technology and methods, learning and education theory, mathematics, network topologies, and psycholinguistic modeling. His articles have covered computer technology, cultural-knowledge modeling, equine management, knowledge studies and applications, library science, martial arts, myth and folklore, neurolinguistic, psychodynamic and psychosocial modeling, studies of group and tribal behavior, including studies of social interactions in New York City.

Jesse F. Devitte, Managing Director, Borealis Ventures

Mr. Devitte is a Managing Director of Borealis Ventures, a northern New England-focused early stage venture capital firm that is a member of the Village Ventures national network of early stage venture funds.

Mr. Devitte is the Chairman of Handmark, Inc. and the Chairman of Scribe Software. Mr. Devitte has served as an executive in two public software companies. Mr. Devitte helped grow Softdesk from a start-up New Hampshire software firm to a public, multinational company while serving on the Board of Directors and in a variety of executive positions. Once Softdesk was acquired by Autodesk he then served on the Executive Staff of Autodesk, the fourth largest PC software company in the world. Mr. Devitte is the Chairman Emeritus of the Software Association of New Hampshire ("SwANH"), the Co-Chair of eCares and serves on numerous non-profit boards.

Carl Frappaolo, Executive Vice President and co-founder of Delphi Group

With over 20 years of experience working with a broad array of Knowledge Management and EDMS technologies, Mr. Frappaolo is well versed in the technological and practical aspects of implementing large-scale applications.

Valued for his practical business expertise as well as technical know how, Carl has consulted with a variety of organizations and has helped develop the knowledge strategies for organizations such as Alcoa, AT&T Wireless, AARP, Hewlett Packard, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, and Northrop Grumman.

Mr. Frappaolo is the creator of Delphi’s KM2, knowledge audit methodology, and the author of three books on EDMS (Electronic Document Management Systems) and Knowledge Management. The Association for Information and Image Management (AAIM) has recognized Mr. Frappaolo as a Master of Information Technology and as an Information Systems Laureate, and in 2000 bestowed on him the prestigious Citation of Distinguished Service.

Tom McCorkhill, Portal Strategy Manager, Staples

Mr. McCorkhill has been in the information management profession since 1990 working in corporate libraries, records management and more recently in knowledge manager positions at KPMG Consulting and Netegrity.

Mr. McCorkhill currently works for Staples as Portal Strategy Manager managing the content within the portal that is available to over 50,000 Staples associates nationwide and in the UK. Staples recently won the 2003 World Class Solutions Award for Portals from DM Review journal. Mr. McCorkhill is a member of both the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) Association of Information and Image Management (AIIM) since 1991.
