Freshman Knights,
We can’t wait to meet you at this year’s “Knight in Training” day!! Here are all the details you need in order to get ready! Be sure to follow the registration process from the previous email in order to view your schedule in Home Access BEFORE this day. Paper class schedules will not be given out at Knight Training. If you receive your online schedule before Knight Training, be sure to take a screen shot of your schedule on your phone. You will have some time this day to walk the building and locate key locations.
Knight in Training Information:
When: August 9th from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm
Who: All incoming freshman are invited! (Parents, you are more than welcome to tag along for the afternoon, but your attendance is not mandatory!)
Where: Park in the back of the school and enter through the auditorium doors. This is your best spot to meet back for pick-up as well.
What: See below for the afternoon’s schedule:
1:00-1:30: Students check in at auditorium and get assigned to their group for the day. You’ll also see some fabulous performances from some our steller fine arts students and hear from our principal, Mr. Waligura!
1:35- 3:25- students will rotate through the 3 rotations with their group leaders.
-“How to do High School, with the IHS counselors” – Meet the counselors and learn all the ins and outs of high school!
-Club and Organization Fair- Meet and greet with student organizations. You can sign up and get all the details about the groups you want to be a part of! You’ll also get your face painted here so you can truly BLEED PURPLE!!
-School Song and GAME TIME!- Yeah, you’ve heard it once or twice, but this will soon be the song you can’t stop singing in the shower!! Practice our school song and then compete with your fellow Knights in a friendly challenge!
3:35-4:00- Last stop of the day! You’ll have some time to locate and open your locker (locker numbers and combination will be given this day)! Get that combination just right and you’ll find a sweet surprise in your locker, one being your new IHS freshman class shirt. Please complete the following link order to give us your shirt size in advance:
The IHS school store will also be open on this day if your student would like to bring money to purchase items such as short-sleeve T-shirts ($12-$15), sweatshirts ($26), long sleeve T-shirts ($17), tumblers ($3.00), and car decals ($1.00)!
If you are unable to attend Knight’s Training, we will miss you, BUT you still have a few opportunities before school starts to get into the Knight Spirit. Mark these events on your calendar:
Aug 7th @ 6:30 PM:AP/PAP Parent Information Night
Come hear more about the PAP and AP program at IHS and meet the teachers of those classes!

August 18th @4:00-6:00 pm: IHS Self-Guided Tours
Come up and walk the halls before the first day of school….locate key locations and your class rooms before your first morning of school!
Aug 19th @ 6:00-8:30 pm: The Rumble
Join us back on the IHS practice field for games, food trucks, activities for kids and cheer on IHS football for their first practice game of the year! IHS clubs and organizations will be promoting IHS swag for purchase. Free fun for the whole family!
