Classroom Policies / Grading Procedures

ALL RULES IN THE STUDENT HANDBOOK APPLY TO THIS CLASS.

  1. Students are expected to bring the necessary supplies to class each day. These supplies include a folder, paper, and pencil. Once you receive your PC tablet, it should be brought to class each day. A class set of textbooks is available. Also, thetextbook can be accessed online at:

If a student wants to save a copy of the book on his/her lap top, it is available on "studentnet".

(Student must be on campus to access studentnet.)
1. Open StudentShare. (under Campus Resources)
2. Double click on Campus_Klein Oak
3. Double click on CITS
4. Double click on Student Books
5. Choose Algebra 2, right click to select Copy, then right click on the desktop and select Paste.
6. Once copied on your desktop, open the folder. Click on the “Student_One_ Stop” with the red symbol.

  1. You must be seated in your desk when the tardy bell rings andremain seated during the entire class period unless turning in assignments, sharpening pencils, or asking the teacher questions.
  1. Courtesy is expected from all students. Remain quiet during announcements, when the teacher is speaking, and when a fellow student is speaking during a class discussion/questioning. There should be no talking while completing quizzes or tests.
  1. Unless you are given permission, do not touch the personal property of fellow students or the teacher. (You should not use the teacher’s computer or open the file cabinet or closet.)
  1. Homework assignments are to be completed before the student enters the classroom. A homework assignment will receive a 5 point deduction if one day late. An additional 5 points will be deducted each day lateup to 3 additional days. After a homework assignment is more than 4 days late, a grade of 0 will be earned. A student may be assigned Homework Academy. It is the students responsibility to turn-in/show the teacher any late work.
  1. Blackboard assignments are to be submittedbefore class begins or by the given time of each due date. At times, assignments will not be due by the beginning of the following class period, but will be due by a given time of a due date. (For example, a particular worksheet may be assigned on Blackboard on a Tuesday with a submission deadline of “before midnight on Thursday”. For that assignment, a student could submit the completed assignment any time until 11:59pm on Thursday.)
  1. A student who earns a grade less than 80 on a test may retake the test according to Klein Oak’s Grading Guidelines. A student who earns less than 80 on a quiz will have the quiz grade replaced as stated in the syllabus.
  1. Cheating will not be tolerated in this class. If you are caught cheating on a test, quiz, or any assignment by copying a fellow student’s work, using or having cheat notes, submitting other student’s work on Blackboard, etc., a grade of zero will be earned on that assignment.
  1. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain and turn-in all make-up work from the teacher. Students will be expected to make up all work for excused absences in the same number of days in which he/she was absent. Make-up work not completed in the scheduled time will result in “0’s” on those assignments.

Missed tests may be taken on Tuesdaysbefore school (6:25-7:15 a.m.) or Thursdays after school

(2:35-3:25 p.m.) in Room 289. In order to take a morning make-up test, you must arrive before 6:45a.m.andyou must arrive before 2:50p.m.to take an afternoon make-up test. Students have 2 weeks to make up missed tests.

GRADING SCALE: GRADING SYSTEM:

A: 90 - 100 Major Grades
B: 80 - 89 70% Tests/Exams, Math Logs, Projects
C: 75 - 79 Minor Grades
D: 70 - 74 20% Quizzes, Classwork, Warm-ups/Notes
F: 0 - 69 10% Homework

* Most major math tests will be given onTuesdays and Thursdays.
