KIWANIS, PROJECT & CAREER AWARD LIST

NEW PROCESS—Please submit nominations on your club’s Excel worksheet.

LEADERS: You may nominate members for project and other special awards listed below. Be sure that a completed Record Book Evaluation & Rating Sheet is enclosed in the record book. The awards committee will use those comments in their analysis.

KIWANIS AWARD- The member is recognized as an encouragement to continue their involvement and participation in 4-H. It is awarded to youth that have completed 6th grade to 8th grade and have been in 4-H at least 2 years. A maximum of 15 will be awarded per year. This award may be received only once. If a member receives a county project award this year or in the past, they will not be considered for the Kiwanis award.

Please notefor project and career awards members must be in a project a minimum of two years to qualify.

CAREER AWARDS

There are five career awards that you may nominate members for. A member must be nominated in 2 or more of the above project areas to qualify for career awards.
AGRICULTURE AWARD - The member needs 2 or more of the following (beef, cats, crops, dairy, dairy management,dogs, goats, horses, horseless horse, llama, poultry, rabbits, sheep, swine, tractor, vegetables, vet. science, or youth leadership project if related to agriculture)

ARTS & COMMUNICATIONS AWARD -The member needs 2 or more of the following (arts & crafts, clowning, communications,computers, model horse, music, photography, plant crafts, theatre arts, the general youth leadership project, or youth leadership if related to arts & communication)

HOME & FAMILY AWARD - The member needs 2 or more of the following (child development, clothing, consumer savvy, crocheting, entrepreneurship, foods, health, home environment, intergenerational, international,knitting, quilting,or youth leadership project if related to home & family)

MECHANICAL SCIENCE AWARD - The member needs 2 or more of the following (aerospace, bicycling, electricity, scale models, small engines, tractors, woodworking, or youth leadership project if related to mechanical science)

NATURAL SCIENCEAWARD - The member needs 2 or more of the following (adventures, bicycling, entomology, environmental, fishing, flowers, home grounds, house plants, shooting sports, or youth leadership project if related to natural science)

Reminder: 4-H Growth Achievement, Leadership, Citizenship and Community Service are nominated on a separate form.
