KIT LIST – YEAR 9 YPRES VISIT 16th - 17th Nov 2017
Valid Passports and valid EHIC cards in a sealed envelope, clearly labelled with the student’s name and tutor group, placed in the locked student deposit box in Main Reception no later than Friday 10th November.
Ø Spending Money - for souvenirs and refreshments. Students will be responsible for handling their own money. Around 30-40 Euros is a suggested amount for souvenirs and chocolate (and refreshments at the Calais Shuttle Terminal if needed). As we stop at UK service stations on both the outbound and inbound journeys, students should carry a little sterling e.g. £5-10 for refreshments, if needed.
Ø A healthy packed breakfast and lunch for the first day (no energy drinks please)
Ø Rucksack for daytime – everything which the student needs for
the daytime on Day 1 (food, medication etc) should be packed into this bag – other bag to be stored under the coach and will not be unpacked until we are at the hostel at c.5 p.m. on Day 1
Ø Clothing/footwear - Dress for the possibility of getting wet/cold - layers are a good idea – check the weather forecast for Ieper Belgium
· A waterproof coat
· Sensible footwear, which may get a little muddy at some of the sites
· Two complete changes of clothing - some of our visits are outdoors and students may get their clothing wet on Day 1!
· Sleepwear and indoor footwear for the hostel
Ø Medication – clearly labelled with the student’s name and the required dosage. Asthma inhalers etc. to be kept with students (not left on the coach) since we will split into smaller groups for some activities and the coach will not stay with us.
Ø Toiletries and a towel – towels are not provided by the hostel
Ø Mobile phones, which will need to be silent whilst students are engaged on each activity (such as at the cemeteries or in the museum) and charged ready for both journeys
Ø Phone charger
Ø Travel socket adaptor – European
Ø Camera (if desired) and books, magazines, ipads etc. for the journey.
Ø Pens/pencils for written activities
