General Discussion
We decided that it is a high priority to get a dry erase board and pens and eraser to keep track of what work needs to be done and what work has been done. This will go inside the new shed.
Kinley will ask Mark if ShareNet has a dry erase board that they could donate to us
Kathy volunteered to contact the high school about getting the honors students to volunteer again this spring.
Kinley will get Isabel set up with permissions to coordinate the Facebook page
Isabel will begin posting information to the Facebook page.
Garden Planning
General-
The big patch by the high tunnel will be cover cropped this year
In the high tunnel we will grow melons and squash in hills
Mowing and weeding are very important- need to stay on top of it this year
Isabel will coordinate strawberry planting
Kathy will e-mail out to everyone the old soils test
We’ll see about getting new soil tests done
What we’ll plant:
Cantaloupe, acorn squash, small and fast growing (Asian) melons, snap peas, pole beans, garlic, cucumbers, carrots, spinach, head lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, eggplant, basil, asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries
No potatoes, garlic or tomatoes
Steps to getting seeds/seedlings:
- run veggie list past everyone for verification
- Run veggie list past Mark Ince for his comments
- Put out call for specific seeds or seedlings
- Order seeds that are still needed (possibly from Johnny’s)
Nile will start cucumbers, squash, and melons
Laura will start beans and peas
