  1. Minutes of Kimball Township Board of Trustees: February 6, 2018, February 14, 2018 and February 20, 2018 received by M. Sturdevant.
  1. OLD BUSINESS
  1. Grants

Sturdevant asked the cemetery board if anyone had a chance to look for information regarding getting grants for the maintenance and improvement for Caswell Cemetery. Sturdevant stated that the only information that he could find was for preserving Veterans cemeteries.

III.NEW BUSINESS

  1. Cemetery Beautification

Wagar suggested that the old fallen down fence on the east side of the cemetery be removed. The brush needs to be cleared and a couple of foot bridges should be installed to gain access to the cemetery from the new driveway if the need arises. This would allow for additional parking during funeral services at the cemetery. Lasher suggested that on the cleared bank of the ditch next to the cemetery, that low growing flowering bushes be planted between the foot bridges. This would prevent walking on the edge of the ditch. Lasher also stated the Caswell sign at the front of the cemetery needs to be straightened. Sturdevant stated that this issue has been mentioned several times and no action has taken place. Sturdevant also stated that he had contacted Lincoln Monument where the sign was purchased. Lincoln Monument informed Sturdevant that the township DPW poured the foundation for the sign. A crane will have to be rented to remove the sign from the improper footing so that a new correct one can be poured and then the sign would be reset on the new proper foundation.

Cline motioned to adjourn the meeting at 11:15 a.m. supported by Wagar.
