BOYS’ FOOTBALL

There will be a boys’ Football after school club starting on Wednesdays from today. Anyone from S1-S6 is welcome to attend. Once we establish weekly sessions, we will look at playing some friendly matches. Ricky Evans will be leading the sessions.

S4/5 INTERESTED IN STUDYING LAW

The Law Society Of Scotland are hosting a Legal Study and Careers Day in Edinburgh on Thursday 12th February 2015. There are only 3 spaces available which will be allocated on a first come basis - names to Mrs Morran please! Please note that pupils will need to make their own transport arrangements.

SCOTTISH SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY

Any pupil wishing to enter the Scottish Schools Cross Country should speak to Mrs Page as soon as possible. This competition is on Saturday 7th March at Irvine and pupils would be responsible for making their own travel arrangements. Pupils should ensure they are definitely going to attend the competition before entering. Mrs Page

SEE IT MAKE IT FILM PROJECT

There are still a few places left on the film project for S1 pupils. Are you interested in film making, art, storyboarding? Come along to the drama studio at 1.30 on Thursday and put your name down for this project. It will run for one hour after school on a Thursday from after the half term break until the Easter holiday’s (6 Thursdays in total) You will work with a professional animator, make action figures and create a short film which will be premiered! This is a great opportunity to do one of your key challenges!

BIOLOGY STUDY CLUBS

Biology Study Clubs (Mondays and Thursdays after school) are still open during senior study leave – come along for informal help with homework, revision or exam technique. All S4-S6 biologists and psychologists welcome! Mr. M

DEBATING

Come along to the English break-out area on Monday 9th February where the motion under debate is: “This House Would sell alcoholic drinks in football stadiums.” Speaking FOR are Calum MacPherson and Struan Ross and AGAINST are Jack Watson and Freddie Bull. All welcome! Mrs Winter

SILENT AUCTION

There are some CDT projects which are now available for auction (mainly wall mounted shelves). The idea is to hold a silent auction between now and close of business on Friday 6th February. This auction is open to both staff & pupils. Basically all you need to do is go along to CDT department and you will see eight projects hung on the display boards clearly labelled Lot 1 to Lot 8.

If you are interested in any of the lots please write your name, Lot number you are interested in bidding for and the amount you are willing to pay. The details should then be placed in the sealed box labelled, “Silent Auction”.Once the deadline date had passed, the bids will be reviewed and highest bidders contacted with the results.All proceeds raised will be donated to Teenage Cancer Trust.
