KHBC Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, January 9th, 2012
Call to Order
John Hauge called to order the monthly meeting of the KHBC Board at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 9th, 2012, Bloomington Ice Garden, Rink 2 Meeting Room.
Attendance
The following Board members were in attendance: John Hauge; Joe Vodovnik; Rene Gelecinskyj; Lisa Christensen; Brent Jensen; Margaret Brandt; Robin Vodovnik; Kevin Mendel; Paul McCullen; Mike Broveleit; Kris Trenary; Tammy Barnum. The following general members were present: Carin Folk; Jason Brockman; Dan Obermeyer; Scott Mattson; Sarah Magnuson.
Committee Updates
· Finance - Lisa Lansdale (absent)
Notices will be sent out this month to those members in bad standing.
· Ice - Brent Jensen / Renee Johnson (absent)
The summer clinic ice is set. Spring ice is being worked on for new skaters.
· Equipment - Kristin Gonyea (absent) / Garrett Smeltzer (absent)
Kristin has resigned. The move to a larger storage unit is in the works.

· Communications - Lisa Christensen / Tammy Barnum
The mid-season survey went out as of 1/14/12. Please fill it out if you haven’t done so yet.
● Recruiting - Sarah Magnuson
Recruiting is an on-going process.
· Hockey Development - Dave Miller (absent) / Jeff Burton (absent) / Paul McCullen / Drake Dietz (absent)
Paul has information on a 3 on 3 spring program in Cottage Grove. There are opportunities for girls U10 and U12, and boy’s peewee to bantam.
· Guidelines - Kris Trenary (absent) / OPEN position
If anyone would like to revisit anything in the revised guidelines please contact Kris.
· Tournaments - Robin Vodovnik (absent) / Margaret Brandt
About 65-70 teams are registered for the mite jamboree.
· Revenue - Kevin Mendel / John Gonyea (absent)
Kevin is working with setting up fundraising dining nights with various Bloomington restaurants. Anyone with any leads on other fundraising ideas or getting team sponsors should contact Kevin or John.
· Registration - Monica Strout (absent) / Lisa Christensen
No new news.
· BAHA - John Hauge
E>Train contracts will be finalized at the next BAHA meeting.
· D6 - John Hauge / Joe Vodovnik
Reminders regarding on-ice safety will be on-going.
· Mites - Mike Broveleit
The mites will be working the meat raffle at the VFW every Saturday from 1-3pm through June. Contact Mike to get scheduled to volunteer. Anyone can volunteer.
Hockey Day Minnesota events take place January 21, 2012. The Mite Winter Classic in Bloomington will start at 8:30am at Running Park and continue with the last game starting at 4:00pm. This also coincides with the City of Bloomington’s Winter Fest.
· Girls - Joy Smith (absent)
January 24th the Kennedy and Jefferson girls varsity game will feature the girls U6 and U8 skating in between the 1st and 2nd periods.
New Business
*The November and December minutes were approved.
*The Richfield Board voted to continue to the co-op for another year. Bloomington will set up a sub-committee to
discuss what has worked and what needs to be changed to continue the co-op smoothly.
*Discussed having each team do a community service project next year.
