As part of a national project to map services for women experiencing multiple disadvantage, I would like to request the following information from your organisation:
  1. What services are you currently commissioned to deliver specifically for women affected by:
  1. substance use problems
The Trust is not commissioned to provide substance misuse services specifically for women. We are however commissioned by Essex County Council to provide the Specialist Treatment and Recovery Service (STaRS) for the general population of Essex
  1. mental health problems
The Trust is commissioned by NHS England (Midlands & East) to provide a specialist Perinatal Inpatient service for women in late pregnancy and the postpartum year. The infant is admitted with the mother also
  1. homelessness
The Trust is not commissioned to provide homelessness services specifically for women. We are however commissioned by NHS Ipswich & East Suffolk CCG and NHS West Suffolk CCG to provide the Marginalised & Vulnerable Adults Health Outreach Service for the general population of Suffolk. This is a community based service, providing urgent and immediate clinical care, advocacy and support, health promotion and engagement with other health providers; facilitating integration into primary care services at the earliest opportunity. The service is designed to support vulnerable adults across six marginalised communities; homeless, refugee and asylum seekers, gypsy and travellers, other black minority and ethnic (BME) people, migrant workers, and ex-offenders. The service also sees a large number of women who are victim of domestic abuse.

The unit can care for up to five women (and their babies) at any one time. The current contract is due to expire on 31 March 2017 however we are in negotiation to extend this until 31 March 2019
