UNDER 25’S COUNTY 2 WOOD TRIPLES COMPETITION

RULES 2014-15

  1. The competition shall be known as ‘The Inter County Under 25’s Two Wood Triples Championship’.
  1. Each County will be represented by 6 bowlers and these will constitute two 2 Wooded Triples teams. (Teams ‘A’, and ‘B’) One under 25’s girl player may be played in each triple.
  1. Counties should book in their teams between 9am and 9.30am on the day of play.
  1. Each team will play four 55 minute games in a round robin format, the details of which will be issued to each of the participating counties.
  1. Counties will not be allowed to interchange players from one team to another during the day. Each county will be allowed to bring one reserve player who can be used in the event of illness. The reserve will not be allowed to skip once the first game has commenced.
  1. A coin will be tossed to decide the order of play for each game by the team managers. The team taking the Jack will be ‘Home’ on the scoreboards.
  1. One trial end will be allowed prior to the commencement of the first game only. The trial end will be played at 9.50am, before the start of the first game. All players are asked to have woods on the green ready for checking by no later than 9.40am.
  1. Owing to time restriction no visits are allowed to the head at any time. Skips must be at the same end.
  1. No dead ends – a two shot penalty will be awarded against the offending team.
  1. No jacks are to be cast before the allotted starting time. A bell will signal the start of each period.
  1. A bell will ring 5 minutes before the end of each period, jacks must be centred before the bell.
  1. Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw.
  1. At the end of the day the county with the highest points will be the winners of the 2 Wood Triples Championship, if counties are level on points – best overall shots difference will apply, if still level – the county with the most winning ends will be the winners.
  1. The winning county will hold the title for twelve months.
  1. Dress code – Whites / County shirts.

16. Fees for the day will be to cover green fees and presentation meal.
