JOB TITLE:Community Fundraiser – Events

REPORTS TO:Head of Community Engagement

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The job holder must have the ability to analyse invitations for our attendance at external events, and the tact and diplomacy to politely decline those events that are not appropriate or cost-effective for us.

They must have good organisations skills and attention to detail, and to work accurately at all times. Planning skills are essential as the post holder will be responsible for organising store and street collections on a consistent basis.

The job holder must be able to manage a variety of supporter-led and charity-led initiatives, when instructed by the Head of Community Engagement.

The ability to interact with a wide variety of supporters is essential as the job holder will also need to stand in for the Supporter Care Fundraiser during times of absence.

The job holder must be able to communicate well both verbally, face-to-face and in writing with supporters with a wide range of personalities. They will need to be experienced in Microsoft Office applications and ideally in using a charity database. Excellent interpersonal skills are required. The job holder must be able to adopt a flexible approach in order to work to deadlines, and to work effectively under pressure.

DUTIES:

1To analyse invitations from event organisers and to respond to those approaches by accepting(or, where appropriatepolitely declining) the offer of our presence at those events.

2To consistently book our attendance at stores and in public places, to carry out cash collections.

3To liaise with the Head of Volunteer Development in order to source cover for events and collections.

4To complete risk assessments and booking forms required by event organisers and return them, along with any booking fees, in the required timeframes.

5To provide volunteers with the appropriate documents and materials for events and collections, in advance of the event or collection.

6To follow-up for monies and materials not received back from volunteers within the given timeframes after events and collections.

7To receive gifts in kind and determine the best means of disposal (prizes, events, online auctions or physical auction), ensuring that they are disposed of in a timely basis and that all relevant parties are thanked.

8To provide cover for the Supporter Care Fundraiser during times of absence, ensuring that urgent requests are actioned immediately.

GENERAL DUTIES

1To work effectively alongside other teams within the Trust.

2To comply with internal office procedures.

3To respect confidentiality of all information obtained whilst employed by the Trust/Promotions Ltd., in accordance with Data Protection laws.

4General administration matters as required to ensure the smooth operation of the office.

5Ad-hoc duties as required from time to time on behalf of Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

SALARY:£23,500

HOURS OF WORK:37hours per week

Monday to Thursday 9 am – 5 pm (less 30 minute lunch break)

Friday 9 am – 4.30 pm (less 30 minute lunch break)

Attendance at KSSAAT fundraising events, which may include weekend work. Time off in lieu for additional hours worked.

ANNUAL LEAVE:20 working days in a full leave year 1 April to 31 March, rising by one day for each year of service to a maximum of 25 working days, excluding Bank Holidays
