Ken-Ton German Exchange Application Directions

In order to save paper and time, all application materials for the German Exchange are online. Please read the directions below carefully and proceed when ready!

Student Application Directions:

  1. Students and parents should do this together!
  2. Read through the entire application (see below) and collect all of the information you will need. Prepare your responses to the questions and save as you go.
  3. Return to the application link, complete the information requested and copy/paste the answers to your essay questions into the form.
  4. Contact your references and ask them to complete the forms at the links below by March 1. Families who have hosted in the past may skip this step.

Host Family References

To help assure the German parents that their child is being placed in an appropriate family situation, please choose three adult references who know your family well. The same precautions are followed in finding an appropriate home for your child while he/she is in Germany. Suggested references are: a neighbor, clergy, professional acquaintances, family friends, or a relative not living with you.

If you have hosted before, please just list three current references on your application form. You do not need to ask your references to complete the reference form.
