KCHS Alumni Scholarship & Application

Scholarship Policy

1. Scholarship amount is $750.00

A. 375.00 payable in semesters 1 & 2 or quarters 1 & 3.

2. Eligibility

A. Any KCHS student who has applied and been accepted to any United States university, college, or accredited vocational or technical school.

3. Application

A. Must be completed and submitted by May 1 of the coinciding school year.

a. Any student who applies shall have a minimum 2.0 GPA.

b. Application must be typed, spelling corrected, and sentence structures

shall be in standard English.

4. Determination- 1 Student and 1 Alternate

a. Student selected will receive scholarship unless that student cannot attend or loses privileges to the scholarship. At that time, the scholarship will be given to the alternate.

5. Scholarship period.

A. First year

a. Remuneration will be given to the student. In the name of the the student and the school. The check must be signed by both the student and the school.

b. Payment is made at the beginning of Semesters 1&2 or Quarters 1 & 3.

6. Requirements to maintain scholarship.

A. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA

a. The Alumni Association may at any time contact the school to verify the student’s academic performance.

B. Termination of Scholarship & Reimbursement to the Alumni Association

a. If, at any time during semester one or quarters one and two, the student is dismissed due to academic nonperformance or extra circumstantial problems, the full amount for that period of the scholarship shall be returned to the Association by the student.

C. Student Contract.

a. The student shall, upon receiving the Scholarship read and sign the Scholarship Policy Contract.

D. Extenuating Circumstances

a. If the student who has received the scholarship is forced to dropout or not attend school as planned due to extenuating circumstances listed below, he or she will not need to reimburse Alumni Association. Extenuating circumstances are at the discretion of the Board and can include, illness, death in the family, or other similar events.
