COMPETITION RULES AND GUIDELINES

  1. Judges decisions on all matters concerning the Competition are final.
  2. Winners must make themselves available for interviews on radio and/or television as scheduled by the organizers.
  3. It is the responsibility of the winners to collect prizes at the days/times stated by the organizers.
  4. Organizers reserve theroyalty-free, worldwide, nonexclusive, and irrevocable right to use, disclose, reproduce, prepare derivative works, distribute copies to the public, and perform publicly and display publicly, in any manner and for any purpose, and to have or permit others to do so.
  5. Organizers will recognize, respect and honour all legal rights regarding copyrighted lyrics.
  6. By entering, participants, without limitation, release and hold harmless the organizers and sponsors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind in connection with the Competition. By entering this Competition, you agree to waive any right to claim ambiguity or error in these Competition Rules or in the Competition itself.
  7. Organizers reserve the right to change these Competition Rules at any time, in its sole discretion, and to suspend or cancel the Competition or any entrant's participation in the Competition should unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond the Organizers' control, affect the administration, security, or proper execution of the Competition.
  8. Organizers assume no responsibility and applicants waive all claims for lost, late or misdirected entries, or for any problems of technical malfunction of any telephone or network lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry received by Organizers on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, the website or any combination, thereof including, without limitation, any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer resulting from any causes, including without limitation downloading any materials in the promotion.
  9. Applicants who violate these Competition Rules, tamper with the operation of the Competition or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Organizers or Sponsors, the Competition, or any other person involved in the Competition are subject to immediate elimination from the Competition.
  10. Competitors must submit a full script of the song along with the Application and Consent form.
  11. Lyrics must be original and related to the Competition themes.
  12. Completed Application and Consent forms can be submitted via email at , or at the Orientation Session.Applications must be received no later than 11:59am on Monday, 15th January 2018.
  1. The song submitted is to be taken through all rounds of the competition. Song may be further developed during the competition.
  1. Top 3Performers will perform at the finale concert and seek to engage and entertain a live public audience. Your delivery for each round must not exceed the following time limits:
  • 1st judging and Social Media Round: 30 seconds
  • Radio Round: 2 minutes 30 seconds. (Feb 2 and 9, 2018)
  • Wild card round: 1 minute
  • Final round 2 minutes 30 seconds
  1. Competitors will be required to make their own arrangements for attendance to the relevant workshops, finale, mediaengagements and to access prizes.
  1. Competitors will be advised whether they have been accepted from the various rounds as follows:
  2. Preliminary Round on January 18, 2018
  3. Social media round on January 27, 2018
  4. Radio round on Feb 4 and 11, 2018
  5. Wild card round on February 17, 2018
  1. The playing order of competitors for all the rounds will be determined by theOrganisers.
  2. Competitors will be provided with refreshments at the workshops and at the finale.
  3. Competitors must arrive for each round atleast 45 minutes before the start of the program.
  4. All entrants are allowed to participate in all workshops.
  5. Competitors agree that their contact details may be passed on to partners and sponsors of the Katapultcompetition.
  6. No competitor shall make contact with the media duringthe competition to promote or perform the entry song or themselves in the competition.
  7. First Prize Winner may enter the Competition again in a subsequent year.
  1. Top 3 Performers will berequired to support promotion and mentorship in the competition in subsequent years.
  1. The Katapult Music Competition reserves the right to amend any of the entrance qualifications and rules stated.
