PROGRAM INFORMATION
Kansas Autism Wavier Program
The Kansas Autism Wavier Program falls under the umbrella of Home and Community Based Services of the Kansas Medicaid Program. The program currently reimburses for the positions listed below. To be eligible for the program, the child must have an autism diagnosis, and complete the application process. Once the application is completed and approved, they will then be placed on the wait list. The program serves children birth through age 6.
All providers must be approved and attending training to provide services.
- Respite – Billing Code (T1005)
Qualifications: high school diploma or GED
Reimbursement from the program is $12.00 per hour
Allowed 168 hours per calendar year of service
- Intensive Individual Supports provider – Billing Code (H2019)
Qualifications:
- 1,000 hours working with a child(ren) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Bachelor’s degree or 60 credit hours at an accredited college
Reimbursement from the program is $25.00 per hour
Allowed 25 hours per week of service
- Parent Support and Training – Billing Code (T1027)
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED
-21 years of age or older
-3 years of direct care experience with a(n)child with ASD
OR
-Be the parent of a child 3 years of age or older with ASD
Reimbursement from the program is $25.00 per hour
Allowed 30 hours per calendar year of service
- Family Adjustment Counseling – Billing Code (S9482)
Qualifications:
-Must hold a current license to practice as a licensed mental health professional (LMHP) by the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board
-Must maintain an ongoing collaborative relationship with the autism specialist beginning at the time of referral.
Reimbursement from the program is $40.00 per hour
Allowed 12 hours per calendar year of service
- Autism Specialist – Billing Code (H2015)
Qualifications:
-2,000 hours of supervised experience working with a(n) child(ren) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
-Master’s degree preferably in human services or education
OR
-Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and 1,000 hours of supervised experience working with a(n) child(ren) with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
Reimbursement from the program is $70.00 per hour
PROGRAM INFORMATION
TriCare Demonstration Program
The Demonstration Program falls under the ECHO Military Insurance Program. This program serves any child with ASD. All Providers under this program must be approved and go through the credentialing process with TriWest. The amount of hours is based on a $36,000 yearly cap of approved funds per client. The fiscal year for the Program runs from October to September each year.

Qualifications:
- federal background check
- 40 hours classroom training
- Minimum 12 semesters college work in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences,
human development or related fields
OR
- minimum 48 semester hours of college courses in an accredited college or university
OR
-high school diploma or GED and 500 hours employment providing ABA services
Reimbursement from the program is $50.00 per hour
- Demonstration Project Supervisor
Qualifications:
- a current, unrestricted state-issued license to provide ABA services
OR
- a current, unrestricted state-issued certificate as a provider of ABA services
OR
- be certified by the BACB as either a BCBA or a BCABA
Reimbursement from the program is $125.00 per hour
