Treasurer’s Report
The general account total as of December 15 is $22,016.80. Our paypal account has a total of $886.53. This is after the clothing sale and tags were paid out. We have not had an update on the Edward Jones account since October 30, 2015. The total at that time was $22,255.59. Our accountant had to send out an extention due to his backlog. He is trying to get it done by next week.
President’s Report
Tom Biddle resigned two months ago. We need to find a replacement for the Vice President position. Jamie Schambach will be moving to the position of Vice President. Jenny Wold, President, has appointed her as the bylaws state. The President can appoint an executive position if it has been vacated.
Michele Hansen has offered to shadow as treasurer and possibly take over as treasurer next year.
Thanks to Jenny Stuart and the volunteers for a great Holiday Shop.
Thank you to Mark Wold and Kyle Mckittrick for help at the Movie Night.
Thank you to Becky Fair and Joanna Falk for the front planters being decorated for the winter.
Committee Reports
ACE – We have 19 classes scheduled. An email from PTN will still be sent out to fill the position of classes that we still need to fill.
-The high school Key club may be able to fill the positions for day care.
- We need a volunteer for the fourth week for the LeRoy Oaks nature class. Possibly Harry Patterman about bee keeping.
- We will send out classroom requests after holiday break. We will also send out letters to sign up at the end of the first week back from Holiday Break.
Holiday Shop was a huge success at the big picture level. We had a new employee running the Holiday Shop. He had nothing priced, no register, no scanners, no envelop, and no pens. This made it a little stressful on the planning end.
Directory update – We have 200 families signed up. All are published. People can update their information whenever they would like to be added to the directory.
Spirit Wear- We had a great response and the orders will be sent out before break.
Upcoming Events
- Holiday Parties – The kindergarten party will be in the morning. All others will be in the afternoon.
- Fun Lunch – Reams is December 16. The New order form will be available during Holiday Break. There will be 5 meals on the order form, McDonalds, Piasanos, Corner Grind, Jersey Mikes, and Reams.
Principal’s Report
Laura Garland
- Melissa Young organizes Mutual Ground presentations. Parent’s night is January 19 7:00-8:00. This meeting is for parents of first and fourth graders. We may change the date of the PTN meeting since there would be a scheduling conflict.
- Teacher Request – Teachers are requesting that PTN donate money to the water cooler. This money would help to pay for the water. PTN purchased the water cooler for the teachers last week.
New Business
Bylaws Review-
- Article 6 – Directors (Role of President, Vice- President, and Secretary) The number, qualifications, powers of each person, and replacement.
- Looking a t roles and making the role appointments. This is the general and basics.
Review Article 8 and 9 and compile the opinions of what people want to share and talk about.
Faculty News & Proposals
Lynn Ogden would like to be reimbursed for $75 that she spent at Barnes and Noble. She didn’t purchase books at the book fair. We approved this request.
Karen Weigt requested a reimbursement for $25 for books from Scholastic online. This request was approved.
We will make more of a clarification next year that the $75 for each teacher for books needs to be spent at the Book Fair to be reimbursed.
Announcements & Open Discussion
A parent discussed the idea of excess money being spent on something to get kids doing school throughout the summer. There are options for enrichment during the summer. There are enrichment classes and summer school. There is the possibility of purchasing enrichment workbooks for each student or online games to play against friends. Also, possibly offering coding classes and ixl classes throughout the summer.
