Neighbors in Health Fair 2007

This free community health fair for the medically uninsured and underinsured will be held on Sunday, August 19 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kaiser Permanente Central Valley facilities in Modesto, Manteca, and Stockton. Medical professionals will provide free services including a dental exam clinic, children’s clinic (free immunizations and medical, dental, hearing, vision, school entry, and sports exams), women’s exams (pap smears, mammograms, etc.), men’s physicals, STD screenings, HIV counseling, adult chronic conditions diagnosis (blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and body mass index screenings), no charge laboratory and pharmacy services for day of fair only, plus referrals to no-cost or low-cost services and follow up exams.

Volunteer Opportunities:

For Neighbors in Health 2007 to be a continued success, hundreds of volunteers are needed. Men, women, and children, who otherwise may never see a doctor, will have access to an array of medical treatment. Join us as we make a difference in our community!

Volunteers, age 14 years and older, are needed to assist in all aspects of the fair:

  • Saturday, August 18 – Pre-Event:

-Set up areas, booths, activities, etc. the day before the event.

  • Sunday, August 19 – Event Day:

-Non-medical Volunteers: Interpreters to assist physicians with patient contact and test results, direct patients to appropriate services/lines, information booth, children’s health education games and activities, registration, patient forms, food service, etc.

-Medical Volunteers: Nurses, physician’s assistants, doctors, dentists, etc. to provide medical services to attendees.

-Three volunteer shifts are available:

7 a.m. to 5 p.m. 7 a.m. to 12 Noon 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Agency Informational Meetings will be held July 10, July 26, and August 7 between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. in Modesto.
