November 4 Flu Update:
The H1N1 flu vaccine is now available for more members
Seasonal flu shots are available in medical offices while supplies last
The H1N1 flu vaccine is now available to more high priority groups
Kaiser Permanente is continuing to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment guidelines by prioritizing our limited vaccine supply for high risk groups.
Beginning Thursday, November 5, the H1N1 flu vaccine will be available to three high priority Kaiser Permanente member groups in the Denver/Boulder area:
Pregnant women.
Adults and children who live with, or care for, babies under 6 months of age.
Health care workers with direct patient contact.
No appointment is necessary. Eligible members can check in at the front desk to be directed to the H1N1 flu vaccine location, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at any of the following medical offices:

- Lakewood Medical Offices
- Longmont Medical Offices
- Rock Creek Medical Offices
- Skyline Medical Offices
- Westminster Medical Offices
We expect to begin vaccinating other high-risk groups very soon.
H1N1 Symptoms
H1N1 flu symptoms are similar to seasonal flu symptoms. These may include fever, sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, chills, headache, body aches, fatigue, and sometimes diarrhea, or vomiting. If members have flu symptoms AND have a chronic illness, are pregnant, are older than 65, or have a child under 5 years of age, they should contact our medical advice line at 303-338-4545 for questions, concerns, and treatment information.
Staying Healthy
Please take the necessary steps to protect yourself from the flu this season. Get plenty of rest, wash hands often with soap or hand sanitizer, use other infection-fighting measures such as tissues when coughing or sneezing, and stay home from work when sick.

Reminder: The November 7 Seasonal Flu clinic is canceled, but limited doses are still available in medical offices while supplies last
Kaiser Permanente is experiencing higher-than-usual demand for seasonal flu shots and we anticipate running out of seasonal flu vaccine in the next few days. Since most vaccine manufacturers ceased production of seasonal flu vaccine to focus on H1N1 vaccine production we do not expect to receive more seasonal flu vaccine. For these reasons, the mass flu clinic to be held on November 7 at select medical offices has been canceled.
Kaiser Permanente will continue to administer seasonal flu shots to members on a walk-in basis until our supply ends.
