The Department of Justice is recruiting for a Justice Supervisor at the Madison Crime Laboratory in our Crime Laboratories Bureau, Division of Law Enforcement Services. The Bureau encompasses three laboratories accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) and provides a variety of services, including crime scene response, and supports 72 counties.

Position Summary:
This position acts as a mid-level supervisor within the State Crime Laboratory Bureau.The incumbent willsupervise forensic program technicians and office associates within the Madison Crime Laboratory, assist the Laboratory Manager with certain administrative needs and oversee a broad range of responsibilities relating to office/business management in the areas of purchasing, telecommunications, fleet, evidence intake and return. In addition,the incumbent willmaintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ANAB requirements for Accreditation of Forensic Science Testing Laboratories, and Crime Laboratory Bureau Policies and Procedures. This position works closely with law enforcement personnel, District Attorneys and their office personnel, and Crime Laboratory analysts. This position will also serve as the Laboratory Information Management Systems Administrator (LIMS).

Qualifications:
Minimally qualified applicants will havethe following experience:
1) With quality management, such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001.
Or
2) Utilizing Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), such as BEAST, JusticeTrax, LabWare; or extensive experience in databasesor similarIT applications.
In addition to at least one of the items listed above, applicants will have experience in one of the following:
1) Supervising employees, such as onboarding, training, assignment and review of work.
Or
2) With application of state statutes applicable to the submission guidelines of forensic evidence and accreditation requirements.
To be considered minimally qualified, applicants will have two of the four listed qualifications listed above ( ex: quality and supervising; quality and submission guidelines; LIMS and supervising; LIMS and submission guidelines).
A highly qualified applicant will have the following experience, however not required:
*Office or business management, such as purchasing, budget tracking, telecommunications, and fleet.
*Supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
*Served in the role as a LIMS administrator.
